Water filters

Looking at a whole house water filter system, I live in N Yorks , you Teessiders really don’t know how blessed you are with Kielder Water.
Any one got any guidance , experience or tips

Live near Helmsley, the water is awful. Been through about 4 Kettles in 12 years. We filter most of the drinking water that goes into the kettle. Lime scale on the shower cubicle is a night mare.
