Watching British democracy disappear in front of our eyes

At the beginning and end of PMQ's, MP's ignoring social distancing while being back to set an "example".

Brilliant 🙄

I agree with the Parliament comparison To the old public school I don’t think is a coincidence either the boorish ya boo politics has created this Eton oxbridge Parliament route of politicians who’s only life experience has been as a politician ( this is never a good thing) or as a token at daddy’s firm. The old male pale and stale argument.

the real test will come when Parliament relocates when the renovation plan is enacted as then we will finally be able to change it at least test the model in the new venue and then let’s see if the appetite to return to the old ways is still there.

This not for the self appeasement of the MP for the 18C.
There's increasing pressure being put on members, especially conservatives by business leaders and other groups regarding the constant denial of an extension to the transition period.
The non cultists on the government back benches are becoming more aware of that
no deal coupled with Corvid will devastate the economy. They are becoming very nervous, and the leadership even more so that people will start to peel off.
They need to degrade scrutiny.
Together with voting instructions to Tory backbenchers, was a tag line
"Voting for this will get Brexit done" ( yet, we know, it's already done)
The stance of the leadership still gives the appearance of wanting no deal to happen.
So why, when a catastrophe is staring them in the face are they determined to go ahead with it?

I suspect that they can afford it, don't give a flying f*** about anyone else and can blame everything on Covid.

I don't think the issue is so much that they "can afford it" as much as they can profit from it.
