Was Saturday’s crowd experiment a wise decision

Could this line have been the club playing staff seats in the lower section either side of the tunnel or maybe hospitality seats?

They certainly weren’t playing staff. I find it hard to believe they were not allocated them either as they were in a long verticle line and you would have thought that people would be careful to ensure the seat allocated. It looked out of sync with how others were dotted around. Some were sat in a diagonal line from one row to the next which also appeared close from the tv perspective. I assumed rightly or wrongly that they were adopting a 1M rule and not 2M. I appreciate when you are watching the game you aren’t front facing onto each other, but droplets travel several feet when talking, so when chanting and singing I guess thats much further.

I have no doubt the club acted in accordance with all guidelines issued and had everyones safety in mind. I was just surprised when I saw that line and how close some were sat when sing and cheering was happening. I don’t criticise anyone for chanting and cheering, It would be impossible not to for me, had I have been there. Everyone that was there though seems more than happy with the clubs handling and had an enjoyable time and felt safe, and thats what counts. To get back to any form of normality it needs these trials to learn from. I am surprised these have been paused given they let them go ahead knowing what change was coming.

You know what I have just seen a photo from another test ground of fans sitting in a line but when I looked very closely there is a row gap between every occupied seat. The camera angle foreshortened it though so it looks as if everyone is in a line. I wonder if that was what you saw at Boro

That's not a straight line.
You can see Yusuf sat multiple seats in, the guy above him is sat on the outside seat.

Same all over that photo.

It is in that photo, yeah, fair enough.

But I still expect that's errors on people's behalves rather than a deliberate seating policy.
Where I was sat, everyone was staggered.

I know it's easy and a trial, but shouldn't stewards be advising people to move to make it right?

I can't say whether they did or didn't in regards to the people in that photo, I don't know if they were sat like that for the whole match or for a brief period, but like I said earlier in the thread, stewards definitely moved apart a group of men who had sat closely together in the row below where I sat.

I imagine it's less immediately obvious that there's a breach when it's people sitting in the wrong column, if people are still appropriately distanced in the row.
