interview on the club website and gazette have done all the quotes in an article.

Good to hear a bit of honesty about the squad and the situation we are in. He mentions a few times about scrapping for our lives and making sure we don't give Stoke any gifts on Saturday and make them earn anything they get.

There was a couple of things he said i found particularly interesting.

"We've probably not got that many leaders in the dressing room, and that is not being detrimental to them, that's just the nature of the way the players are"

Good to see him highlight something which is clearly a problem as you need leaders in the team to drive the rest on during games, especially if you have a quiet manager on the sidelines which Woodgate seemed to be.

"Fitness levels are very good but I think every club in the Championship knows they could be a little bit more and we will be working very hard on that, especially with the heat and a lot of games coming up."

I mean we didn't look up to speed fitness wise last week and that is unforgivable for me, you can get tactics wrong but fitness at any professional club should always be up to standard with other teams.

Surprised he said that about fitness, they looked knackered 15 minutes in last week

I'd also suggest most, if not all of the likely "leaders" are those out of contract. Difficult dynamic if your leaders are unlikely to stick around if you do get relegated. They don't have same stakes as the other players. Another problem largely of the club's own making.

Ah, I remember Woody's first presser. Bang on time as well.

"Errr well, like, I think we've gorra score more goals, it's as simple as that".

Queue rapturous applause from some quarters.;)

I do not remember it the same way atypical - but then again I was there and I remember Woody beaming with pride but also giving a really good, inspiring account of himself in an articulate, engaging manner.
That era is over now but something I hate is when people seek to demean those that have fallen. Woodgate never once said anything less than positive about Pulis and I don't think Warnock will either about Woodgate.
Time to let it go from you also and move on.

Rob take a bit of reflection, there was a winky at the end of his post. Atypical was posting tongue in cheek
