Warnock post match press conference

Didn’t think he sounded as certain to be staying next season as he did earlier in week

I thought exactly the same having watched it. Previously he seems to gave been hinting at being open to staying but in this interview he seemed to be suggesting the opposite.

Who knows, perhaps in the relief of staying up we were seeing the slow realisation of what a big job it'll be and whether he can be arsed with that at this point in his life.

I thought the opposite and that he was considering himself as Boro manager now
As someone above said; he said ‘there’s a good group Here but we need a few new faces’
We. Is the clue
He would’ve used ‘you’ ‘need some new faces’ if he was off and not staying

Anyway, we’ll know soon enough 👍🙏🏻

He did say 'we' and 'our lads' a lot but in fairness he's done that from day one really.

I'd need to watch it back as there were a couple of points where his choice of words made me less certain. There was one point in particular where he said something like 'it's a good bunch for someone' or something like that which could suggest him staying isn't nailed on.

Sounds to me like Gibbo needs to go on the charm offensive with his Mrs if he's to be here long term.

He's having a sit down with the Gibson today, been arranged since day 1 he said.

I think he mentioned the need for 6 new players. Then said 4 needed down the spine of the team. I suspect he will present the results of his review to Gibson then judge his reaction before making a decision.

Surely our wage bill is reduced significantly so that a rebuild can be budgeted / managed by Gibson.

I hope uncle Steve says crack on Neil, we'll fund you as much as we can.

If he gets some assurances on new players then I can’t see him refusing. If it’s otherwise and a season of struggling into lower mid table then He may think why bother?

Perhaps he gave the impression he'd still be around next year in order to get the best out of the players, knowing that they were playing for their future manager and a place at the club. An extra impetus, as the threat of relegation didn't seem to be enough!

Rather than a case of playing for a veteran manager on his last pay day on a mega-money one month contract. It's probably why he was reluctant to talk about money, as it breeds resentment especially when he's shouting at them after the game. The players needed to feel they were playing for themselves and their futures, and not Warnock's bonus pay out.

Anyway, watch him now sign a two year contract in the next week.. haha
