Warnock out brigade - Sense of entitlement?

The majority of people shouting for Warnock to go now will be the same ones shouting for the new manager to go in 6 months time when he hasn't turned things around.

9 games into the season is far too early to be panicking but given that what ever happens NW won't be here next season a new manager being in place for the January transfer window would be sensible if things haven't improved.
I love the way our form from January is conveniently air brushed from some posters argument. Our form for the calendar year has been poor - so assessments are based on this as opposed to just the games in this season

Just a few short weeks ago Warnock had instilled a sense of excitement and with players coming in left right and centre the new air of optimism bristled through this Board. And it’s taken just a short while for this optimism to fade, with a sudden realisation this isn’t the exciting season we once anticipated.

Its beginning to look like there are rapidly dwindling numbers of those who still have faith in Warnock at the helm. This will continue if results and performances repeat the one we saw on Saturday, at home to Blackpool and at Coventry and for the majority of the latter part of last season.

Short term appointment to keep us up, and he did. He should keep us up this year too, there's s few worse teams in the division.

So he's been a success, and his success in the past has been all about grinding out results. Has he built a squad capable for that?

I don't know what the answer is but just don't get why Pulis got so much stick and Warnock for the most part (despite a very lacklustre 2021) gets away with it. It's not like he plays tiki taka and he's certainly not adverse to going long. At least we got some decent results under Pulis.
Pulis took us to the play offs and if Derby hadn’t cheated he would he taken us to another one. His record with results at least are not as bad as the present incumbent’s. I would add I also hated his style of play too.

By the way, its not all rose specs and foam hands, some of his comments are bewildering at best and I'm not for one minute saying we stick with him until April, no matter what.

But, he needs a little longer in my opinion and the knives are out too early

It's just quite funny reading the overexuberant praise lavished on the bloke this time a year ago. Now everyone hates him.
Roll on the next one. Karanka got us promoted and there were still people wanting him sacked the summer after.

There’s always excitement with a new season, add in some exotic signings and people hoped for the playoffs. First game after the window closed and loss at cov, and it all comes crashing down. It’s a results based game.

Because we had the woodgate season in-between. Karanka had put expectations up to top 2 and play fancy **** football. Woodgate reset it to "we will be happy just to survive."

Just putting a question out there and I'll put my tin hat on and take the pelters if necessary.

Do the fans who are saying Warnock should be sacked now potentially have a similar mentality to the twerps who are probably currently in queues, with jerry cans at the ready??

Why does the thirst for instant success sometimes result in bile and over the top for demands for action?

We are Boro, as a fan in early mid 40's; I'm still at an age where I've probably experienced more lows than highs as boro fan and my god there have been some high's in my time. The years of low's make those halcyon days taste all the more sweeter.

Are we playing good football right now? No
Have we showed very short glimmers this year of some good stuff? Yes
Is it good enough no?
Is it reasonable to expect with such a vast turnaround of players, including some 'outside the box' signings to bed in after a few weeks? Possibly not in my opinion.

Neil Warnock may be a man who possesses qualities that are perhaps not as relevant in the championship today as they were five years ago in an environment increasingly influenced by parachute payments and £££££.

Did this man step in during extremely difficult circumstances amidst covid and show passion, humour and dignity to lift us all and save us from potential disaster? Yes - fact!

Does he deserve us to stick with him a little longer to give him the opportunity to see if he can improve this squad? yes, in my opinion

two play off campaigns and 1 promotion in approx 12 years. Managers, players and have come and gone. Millions squandered.

Does a character like Warnock, who has given a lot to the game in this country, deserve the chance to have his last hurrah unfold?

As long as this doesn't look like we're heading near the drop zone and the behind the scenes planning can go on for the future, I'm with him.....for now

UTFB!
I missed the bit about the fuel comparison. Ridiculous comment

I remember posting on here saying he'd turned me round and got me excited.

Ahh yeah that ropes well and truly snapped. Hope he goes and quick, we have a squad that can salvage this season. We currently do not have a manager who can.

30 days ago, we drew with Blackburn but I was very excited at what I saw. The contrast now is vast.

We've brought a couple in since then but admittedly lost a few as well.

Is it too far beyond the realms to think we can get to that level of performance as a starting point?

He's started working his ticket already.
Throwing 'foreign lads' under the bus.
Enthusing about players like Peltier because he brought him in.
It's only going to get worse.

I'm not airbrushing anything - its a different team/squad this season and we've been unlucky with injuries so far.

9 games into a new season is too early to be pulling the trigger, as I said if things don't improve then pre the January transfer window is the time to do it.
