Warnock knelt down behind us…

Bottom line we got complacent, took them too lightly, and they bullied us and took advantage of their moments. It’s been a rare occurrence since Carrick took over, need to bounce back and see a bit of fight and old skool defending next game

I don't think they went behind on purpose to lure us in. They just got a kick up the arris at half time and we said "after you" rather than putting a tackle in. We showed a bit of mental fragility when under pressure and they exploited it. Fair play to them, but this wasn't some tactical master stroke, or mental trap. We really shouldn't have allowed that first goal, it was like watching us under Wilder away to QPR and seeing Willock waltz through lazy sloppy challenges.

They let us play our game and stuck to D’s age limitation. All was going well for Carrick.. keep calm and carry on.

Looking back we would have gone better if we had went down 1-0 before half time.

It was a crazy 10 minutes in the second half that undid us.

75% Boro possession and more chances and shots on target suggests you are right that the score wasn't a reflection on the game as a whole.
 
They had 4 chances in a row and banged them all in, some from the edge of the box, some from possible “fouls” which would have been given by weaker refs.

Compare that with the chances Ramsey had today where they all ended up in row z, the more I think about it the more I put it down to great luck combined with “after you Claude” defending
