Warnock - is there a risk....

That's not quite what I said zorro. I didn't say short term appointments don't work I am saying they are less likely to work where going long term almost certainly brings more success. The manager doesn't even have to be spectacular
I get your point but I don’t think just giving managers time is the answer either I think it’s a balancing act.

The problem is if you look at managers who were given time, Curbishley, Ferguson, Wenger, people would argue they were just exceptional managers. I am not sure that is entirely true either. They moulded the clubs in their own image and were allowed time to do so.

Let me try it another way, again it won't be popular. If Karanka were not fired, I believe we would be in a better state than we are today. Equally if Southgate had not been fired I would argue the same. Monl, he was fired for off-field shennanigans so had to go.

All other appointments in recent memory have always been short lived.

The problem is, if we believe the manager, short-termism is being thrust upon us, regardless of whether it's part of the plan or not.

It's also possible to have a long term vision and framework but get through managers quickly - I'm pretty sure that's what Watford do (and have had some success as well). Their recruitment strategy is gold plated and they generally go for the same "type" of manager, even if they don't hang around when they're under-performing. I'm pretty sure the Watford board could probably name their next 3 managers right now (or at least their top targets). Could be completely wrong but I don't get a sense that we've got the same level of plan at Boro.
