Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock has claimed 'everybody is chasing' Manchester City's Liam Delap.

The Blues have a wealth of talent now emerging from the academy ranks and Delap is just one of many youngsters that dazzled in City's triumphant Premier League 2 campaign last term — he was the league's top goalscorer with 24 goals in 20 games.

Transfer chiefs at the Etihad have made finding Sergio Aguero's replacement their number one priority this summer, but they might already have that candidate with Delap after Pep Guardiola confirmed in April that he would be promoted to the first-team.

"Liam, like [James] McAtee, [Cole] Palmer, and Luke Mbete. Many players training and doing well. It’s training with us and next season he’ll be with us next season, training every day," Guardiola said, explaining his intention to promote Delap.

However, reports have emerged claiming various Championship clubs are interested in signing Delap on loan for this season and, while that's not surprising, Middlesbrough boss Warnock offered an insight into just how sought after the youngster is right now.

"He’s still available,” said Warnock when asked about Delap.

"Everybody is chasing the lad [Delap]. I’m not sure if we’re anywhere near the top of that chase pack but there are four or five clubs so his agent says so I’m not optimistic on that really.

“There will be odd loan deals when the squads come out. I’ve just got a list from Watford today, there must be seven or eight players on there.

"They want their wages off now so they’ll be somebody like that crop up.”
 
I bet they’d like a muniz type deal , the cost of Man City’s summer transfers will have to get reduced some how . I thought he was off to anderlect
 
According to other platforms there`s possibly 6 or 7 clubs after him.
Neil Knows Rory Delap - his Dad, and story goes hes already spoken to him.
Hopefully Rory will impress on his lad how much good Warnock at Boro with game time in the Championship will help bring him on.👍
 
City seem to rate him very highly so they will definitely be careful about where they send him. Stoke can be quite an up and down club, with a tendency to sack a manager quite quickly of late, which could unsettle a young player.

Personally I think all the links to Stoke is just easy journalism because of the Rory Delap link.
