Warnock ‘ We have got what we have got’

Sheffield will be the decider, a heartless performance and NW will be gone, The squad is so inbalanced and lacking champo fighters.... dont think I have seen a midfield so lacking in bottle ...

I don't believe Warnock is having the final say in who comes in or gets sold.

He didn't sign them the recruitment team did. There's no way in the world untried Payero and Siliki were Warnocks choices I am sure he would preferred morsey and Saville to stay over those two.

See my earlier post in the thread. Warnock signed the majority of players.

This quote annoys me more and more because I don’t think you can complain about the makeup of your squad when it’s your second season in charge, and you’ve just brought in the most players in the division and been the second highest spenders.

I don’t see many other Championship clubs bringing in strikers on loan from Sporting Lisbon.

Agree that’s it’s obviously not a squad all of Warnock’s choosing - but most of it is.

Also agree that’s it’s unlikely he was on board with letting Morsy go, and if you’re doing a Director of Football thing you then can’t 100% blame the manager if the squad is unbalanced. I have some sympathy with him there and it was an unusual summer with such a big rebuild, which we needed with so many big earners out of contract - it’s not a great look to bring in 12 new players and still looking glaringly short in 3 positions.

But, a manager has three jobs: build a squad, coach them into a unit and get results. Warnock’s doing none of these atm and ultimately that’s his responsibility, I don’t like that he’s making little noises to suggest that it’s not.

It is still very early days with most of the players though.

The most baffling thing is Spence, Coulson and Morsy went out of the door and could have covered these positions. I understand the need to balance books but they can't have been on much in terms of wages??? Saville, yes, so I can see why he moved on when we had the chance too.

If it is the decider.. then who do we have lined up? Wagner and Jokanovic we looked at under Karanka. Wagner didn’t want to leave Huddersfield so we went with Steve Agnew.

when Eddie Howe and Chris Wilder turn their noses up at the job are we gonna see Leo and Bamba giving it a whirl?

I suspect Wilder would take the job.

At a well run club they would be familiar with all the best coaches around the main leagues in Europe. It seems like a small pool of coaches to choose from for us, but to the club it shouldn't. Hopefully with Scott there we can be a bit more professional in our choice of appointments in future.
Having said all that i cannot imagine Warnock leaving before the end of the season

Maybe but do you think if we lost our next 2 games badly he would still hang in there? I could imagine things would be very difficult for him and Gibbo. So yes I think there is a possibility of a change if results and performance quality do not quickly change.

I'm not sure. Obviously there's a breaking point in any situation but I can see Gibson hesitating with Warnock.
