Virtual Concourse

I was in the Virtual Concourse before the game today - heck I forgot to count but I think there were about 15 people, that sort of thing.
We had one or two guests dropping in through the hour with Gordon Cox anchoring the whole thing. Jeff the Ref was there predicting further unpredictability in the Championship - he was not far wrong. Alan Geddes came in from the Foundation giving us a run-down of their current projects from feeding youngsters to send out thousands of letters to the elderly and possibly isolated. Also picking up a link from the Foundation Ashley Fletcher popped in and did his best to answer questions about his penalty technique and resisted the many pens brandished in his way for him to sign a new contract. He just wants to concentrate on playing but he did feel it wasn't an aggravation of his previous hamstring injury and so should not be out too long. A youngster called Finley asked whether he would play football with him again at the Christmas party and it turned out that Finley is a player for Adam Clayton's academy, Clayton being hands down the worst dressed footballer in Ashley Fletcher's time at the Riverside.
Gordon Cox read out the team sheet and we could all debate the many changes and whether it could see a change in performance. Media manager, Paul Dews was staying tight lipped when Leigh asked about the formation.
All in all it was good entertainment and a welcome warm up hour up until kick off. Good to see my fellow #staircasemountaineer team mates Dave Mohan and Mark Ando. Dave was rightly praised along with Ashley Fletcher for all the amazing work they have done for our Boro charity.
Finally, an emotional appearance from Keith, ball boy in the South Stand today. He was on page 32 of the Programme today talking about his 3 year old Henry diagnosed with an exceptionally rare form of Muscular Dystrophy just before Christmas. So rare his doctor had to look it up. Keith wanted to raise awareness but he also hopes he will one day make Henry proud by running the Great North Run for him later this year. So, do check that out.
And if you get the chance to join it then do grab a seat at the Virtual Concourse zooming from your house to the Riverside. The pitch camera lets you see the teams warming up as you place your match score predictions. Next best thing to being there.

As well as the Virtual concourse before Riverside games there have been a number of fan zooms with Neil Warnock and players, including Darnell Fisher and fmttm posters. Very positive I think, the club reaching out and staying in touch.

They were advertised a couple of weeks ago - I advertised them too on here. The first ones filled up quickly. Before home games. Contact Yvonne Ferguson at Boro (Supporter Services). Very enjoyable.
