Viagogo Experiences…

Anyone got experiences in dealing with this ticket re-sale firm?

I bought 3 tickets on it recently to Sam Fender at SJP as a treat for my lad. I paid a very long way over face value which I accept is my choice, despite the blatant lack of ethics in resales priced as this was.

Now tickets have arrived, they state original booking confirmation needed, photo ID, payment card etc. I obviously don’t have any of that and Viagogo being pretty much useless in trying to resolve.

Don’t know whether to go for it and see what happens and then try and claim back if we don’t get in, or press now for a refund or chargeback vi bank. Either way sounds like a stressful mess to pick through.

Been to plenty of events where they have stated something similar in the T&C’s. Never been asked to show id. Take a screen shot of the purchase info from viagogo. I’m sure if there are any problems that would be enough.

Bought tickets from then once and will never do so again. Over the odds, and the tickets didn’t arrive until the day before the event. Almost cancelled the hotel and travel because I didn’t think they’d arrive and the customer service was non-existent.

Problem is ticket states it’s invalidated if resold unless through an agreed face value resale site. So Viagogo defo not that so their booking confirmation won’t work. Loads of t&c on back of ticket which basically means Viagogo are selling invalid tickets. Told them that and they’re still selling them on site.

The chances of them checking anything but the ticket itself for a gig that size are remote to say the least. You should be fine as long as the tickets are valid.

It’s unlikely you will be covered by chargeback legislation if there is an issue though as they are a reseller.

Hard copy tickets. Tickets themselves look legit, it’s just not having all the supporting stuff that’s causing the stress. Some helpful stuff above - hopefully they won’t check for anything other than the ticket and that’s automated through using the actual turnstile scanners.
