I would happily help Derby by taking some players off them to settle our owed debt.
Lee Buchanan LB age 20 ( not in latest squad ?)
Festy Ebosele RB RWB , but played LB last game so useful age 19 ( Jones cover)
Max Bird DM age 21
Jason Knight CM , AM ,LM age 20
Tom Lawrence ,LW AM age 28
Lawrence being the diamond , and experienced, but high salary.
I would be happy to help them and us, maybe even giving them some players on loan also, Browne, Wing , Coulson etc.

The main question mark is how much Payero actually cost. I don't think there's much chance he was £6m outright, it will largely be add-ons.

Last season we spent £2-3m on Akpom and Sam Morsy on the cheap with them being in administration, the season before we spent £4-5m on all permanent signings.

Every other signing has been a loan or a free, though there's every chance that there are loan fees involved and wages can't be ignored.

Either way, hopefully the rumoured interest in Spence is true and we can sell him this window for 8 figures.
Should eliminate any possible risk, even if there was one.

TC - Ref cash coming in - We sold Morsy for a profit this season and sold Saville for cash. Plus we received two loan fees for Spence. Woody brought in £10.5m (Braithwaite and Flint) and spent £4m? during 2019/20.

Lawrence is on £27,000 per week apparently, don't know how a 'bust' club is paying that though ?

Derby under transfer embargo
 
Sell Spence, buy Derby with the money, they loan him back to us to be Jones’s understudy till end of season. **** Derby off and use ground as storage space for old unsold merchandise and **** Forest off bragging about us loaning him to them. Win win.

Jason Knight is the big ticket player there with Leeds, Burnley & Newcastle looking to throw £8m at Derby for his services.

I've mentioned early on about Lee Buchanan and indeed using the transfer window/swaps to alleviate the situation with DCFC

Top of the shop, first on the list for me would be:

LB Lee Buchanan for Hayden Coulson would be a fair deal, Buchanan out of contract in the summer and Coulson with BAGS of potential still.

I think we still have a spot in the squad for another midfielder.. I wouldn't be apposed to a move that I think would benefit both players:

MF Max Bird for Lewis Wing

and finally again a move that I think would benefit both players and would round off the transfer dealings nicely:

LW Louie Sibley for Toyosi Olusanya

Jobs a good un, no money has to change hands, obviously a few contract extensions for our incomings and there we have it. Settled.
 
Sure Spence will be getting worked on now hence him staying at Trees and keeping the apple cart from tipping .... 8mill is my guess...
 
We've signed 3 players..... That's probably as many as the rest of the champo combined 😂. I'm pretty sure nobody's spent 3mil on a CM.

We've 'done well' even if we don't bring anyone else in. Hopefully in bed by 2200 on transfer deadline day.

I do expect a CB (left footed) . Yet we can't be knocked for lack of transfer activity.
 
We've got 3 of the 4 mentioned last week to offload before the window shuts.

Obviously if a big offer comes in for Spence, Tav, Fry etc we'll need to consider it.

Looking at the balance of the squad I think we are probably looking at:

A first choice keeper (if Wilder doesn't fancy Lumley or Daniels)
A back RWB - we're pretty light here, if Jones is missing we don't have a replacement
Potentially a CB but I'd expect a like for like swap as we already have six competing for three places (plus Wood).
