Very happy for Latte Lath last night

Chuffed he got on the scoresheet last night, I imagine its been a strange couple of weeks for him, signed for relatively big money, but losing your place to a local youngster.

I am really rooting for him (not sure why I have a soft spot for him over the other new signings already) and hope he can really kick on.

The lad is getting into some great positions, and the chances have been there so far when he has played, just not converted.

Has he potential to grab a fair few goals this season hopefully.

Realistically in all competitions he could be sat on 5 goals if not more this season counting up some of the chances in my head.

Is it 2 goals in 6 appearances now though?

I agree.. I think he clearly had that instinct to be in the right place at the right time he just needs to be a bit more composed and improve his finishing. I think that gives more hope to
us than a striker that never sees a chance or is always a yard too late.

I’d like to see him playing with Josh to see if the two of them can forge a partnership on a similar way that Chuba and Archer did last season.

So would I, occupies the defence a bit more, and I think they could compliment each other.

He will clearly score more goals than anyone else in our current squad if he is given the chance, but the main issue is do we have enough goals elsewhere in our team to make up for the shortfall while he finds his feet/starts scoring more regularly

It was an awful finish tbf and he got lucky it went in, but they all count. He makes very clever runs constantly and this was another example of marrying that with the right service.

What would you rather have;

Striker who appears to get into the right positions but struggles to finish

or

Striker who doesnt get close to as many goal opportunities on the pitch but is more clinical?

Which is the harder to coach do you think?

The latter for me can be worked with if they have an appetite to learn.
The former never trains on.

I sadly think Latte Lath is the former.
Coburn feels more like the latter.
The really good ones who get into positions and are clinical stand out and are called Archer.

I don’t understand how you think this would work! If you play Lath then who do you drop? Lath is a million miles away from being a 10 in the Akpom mould.

I think the recruitment has really focused on attacking movement.

Rogers, Lath and Silvera all move really well - but currently they are misfiring when getting in the right positions.

They have gambled that pace and movement is more difficult to teach than technique and consistency.
