Over 95% of voters approve a territorial claim to oil-rich Essequibo, electoral officials say.

They've always maintained that the territory should be theirs, despite never controlling it and it being internationally recognised as Guyanese territory, but now they've put it to a referendum.

Insanity from a flagging regime.

Hopefully it's little more than rhetoric, or we're in for another regional war.

Brazil and the USA would be unlikely to just let an invasion happen.

What’s Donald’s take on this? He normally loves someone actually invading another country I’m not sure he will be too impressed with having any sort of a vote beforehand.
