Unfortunately Abel Tasman who runs these games doesn't appear to be on the new Messageboard so have taken the liberty of starting up a thread for him. The cycling season kicks off this weekend with La Strada Bianchi - I will leave a message on the old Board in the hope he sees it. If he doesn't I will start up the League in good time for Wednesday when the first race of the competition - Tour of Poland - starts

Its a 6 tour competition starting with

1. Tour of Poland - August 5th

2. Dauphine - August 12th

3. Tirreno Adriatico - September 12th

4. Binckbank Tour - September 29th

5. Giro d'Italia - October 3rd

6. Vuelta de Espana - October 20th

It is not open yet but will try and get Abel to start it when it does over the weekend so look out for its launch on this thread

Can someone try to invite him over. I am away at the moment. I will try to contact him tomoz.

In. Thanks.

Whilst not a part of this comp I see the Milan San Remo takes olace on Saturday. Forecast of 33 for the longest day race in the calendar. 180 + miles. Brutal.

Sadly left France on Saturday - the route of the tour d’occ went through the village after a cat 3 on the Sunday :(

Chris Froome still has some French detractors among the spectators. In the current Route D'Occitaine clip of him giving short shrift to a bit of booing. Good on him.

I think the BBC got this wrong.
They said the booing was because of the dominance of an English team again
Think it is more to do with something a lot more stimulating than that ;)

Cheers for the invitation today to come over from the old board. First post on the new Board in time for Velogames season. All a bit new so feeling my way. Thanks to Cardiff for kicking things off.

The first tour of the competition - the Tour of Poland - starts tomorrow morning and is part of this new stage race series. Just checked and we have 6 teams in so far. Naturally may see a few more for the two grand tours next month.

If you haven’t played before it’s fairly straight forward. Pick your 9 man squad for each one of the 5 tours. Scoring is based on stage and overall tour positions. No transfers during each of the 5 races but unlimited between them of course. Once each tour starts your team is effectively locked in.

Tour of Poland is a curtailed 5 stage event. Three sprint stages, one for the short hill specialists and Queen stage 4 effectively will decide the result.

Welldone for setting this up and welcome aboard Abel. I think that was the most hastily assembled team I've put together, as all data was knocked out here by an intense electrical storm this morning.

Dylan Groenewegen wins stage 1 in a sprint of the Tour of Poland but

a horrific crash on the line in the sprint with Fabio Jacobsen crashing into the right hand barriers on the line. It looked very nasty indeed and Eurosport have ended their coverage abruptly.
