VELOGAMES 2020 🚴🏻‍♂️🚴🏻🚴🏼‍♀️🇫🇷 Tour de France Is Back ( Although Its Called The Big Bike Race)

Morning Pierre, that's a photo I remember, I'm still riding occasionally with CW, so does Harry when he is home.
How's things over there at the moment, will you be catching the Tour anywhere?

Now then. I dare say I don’t know you personally as I doubt that many from my era are still riding out with the club? Steve Binks who died tragically last year was my last solid link to the club, although there may be others in admin that I remember. I think it's great that Harry and people like yourself living away still support the club by riding out occasionally.

The Tour is coming nowhere near us this year but I’ll be watching If we have internet in the new place (le Perche). Being France and in the sticks we were told it would take 5 months to fit a landline.

Cheers now.

**SPOILER ALERT**

Great win today. Different race like ;)

I love Alaphillipe, but was happy to see Van Aert take that after Alaphillipe sat on his wheel for the last 2k. I think he basically used everything trying to shake VA on the Poggio instead of taking him to the sprint.

Getting excited for the Tour now.

Remarkable change. Previous leaders slip 4 places. New leader Davlar.

The first leg the Tour of Poland has finished with a win for Remo Evenepoel. He is unbeaten in any stage race in 2020. The league table changed so quickly in 2 days with the lead changing hands three times. Dood led the table after Stage 3 but finished last!

Well done Cardiffdaffs on the first win. The second leg, the Dauphine, will be open for entries in a days time.

I waas rather hampered by Groenwegen's stupidity. Not only did he score zilch but he also forced the retirement of poor Marc Sarreau. Still, not quite as awful as last year when young Bjorg Lambrecht, in all my fantasy teams, suffered a fatal crash.

Cheers. It was vital to have the winner Evenepoel in the team. As You say hes been a monster on stage racing so far this year.
Look forward to the shortened 5 stage Dauphine.

What’s the view on Froome ladies and gents? Sounds like it would be very hard for Ineos to pick him for the TDF?

The second of the competitions the Dauphine is now open for entries. Anybody can enter and you don't have to have entered the Tour of Poland.

The deadline is Wednesday 12th August at 09:30. This is a shortened 5 stage version of this classic TdF warm up. Code for entry is as above.

Have I mentioned my view on Froome ?;)

To be honest I doubt Sky / Ineos will factor too much into the performance in l'Ain but probably have a much more scientific way of selecting the team based on lab numbers etc. I wouldn't take him because of personality, and the unrest that it would cause in the camp (unlike say Thomas who could be relied upon to work for the team).

You wouldn’t give him the time of day let along take him ;)
Agree with you though - it would be madness.
Bernal and G

I think they will take Froome. Think Ineos’ squad for the Dauphine will be their TdF squad.

E. Bernal

G. Thomas
P. Sivakov
C. Froome
D. Van Baarle
M. Kwiatkowski
J. Castroviejo
Plus one other.

I watched that last stage of the Tour del'Ain which Lotto Jumbo won by a knockout. Froome at least hung on and did a decent amount of work for the team (as he has done all week), but it's clear to me that he'll not win the Tour this year. However, I'm less biased than TLJ ;) and think he would do a decent job as a domestique. I was more concerned with G who admittedly pulled the peleton for a long spell on the flat before pulling off at the bottom of the climb. I know he was probably 'training', and usually times his form very well, but time is short and he seems too far off the pace for my liking. Bernal is looking good, but Roglic with the support of what looks like a really strong team are very much my favourites as it stands.

I agree P. Lotto Jumbo Visma look the team to beat this year. They were awesome at the TDA. It will be a fascinating battle. Pavel Sivakov is showing some form as well and Bernal at L'Occitaine was in full control.

Primož Roglič, Tom Dumoulin, Steven Kruijswijk, Wout van Aert, Robert Gesink, Sepp Kuss, Tony Martin, and George Bennett.

That is some team for the TdF.
