Vegan Recommendations

I know there are a few of us on here, I say us I actually have meat about once a week. Any way I have just tried these and I was convinced they were meat. I would definitely recommend.

I love daal. So good for you. And lots of pulse and bean curries. I find the texture of kidney and pinto beans to be 'meat like' so it's almost like you're tricked into thinking it's meat.

Rarely eat any sort of meat nowadays to be honest and no red meat at all. Love my veggies!

I eat meat almost every day and plenty of it. I do occasionally cook for my vegan niece though and find that mushrooms are the best alternative to beef in just about any dish.

Must admit the best sausages I’ve tried are probably the Co-op ‘Grow range’. Having said that, none of them are great.
I’ve now moved on to making my own using vital gluten wheat.

We have a some really good ’go to’ simple recipes - tart spaghetti, dhal, pistou soup.
Sundays might be a mushroom wellington or walnut and celeriac pie - both with red wine gravy.

I’m a big fan of this App as well as Bosh recipe book.

I’m making a lot of seitan at the moment then using as the protein in various recipes (stir fry, curry, sweet n sour etc). Gets the B12 in too.

Yes no red meat either for me, chicken once a week.

I'm veggie and Mrs V is vegan. It's so much easier these days than it once was. I've really taken to a range of Indian soups in our local Morrisons - lentil dahl/coconut etc - and using them purely as cook-in sauces. I'll typically use some kind of meat substitute (Linda McCartney's 'pulled' range are particularly good), done with diced pepper, mushrooms and garlic. Simmer them all and add rice. Dead simple and lush!

I`m not totally meat free but the couple of things I do eat that are free from meat are the Vivera Shawarma and Greek Kebab. Also meat free meatballs but not sure who they are by and I can`t be arsed walking to the freezer to find out :D

Linda Mac meatballs are very nice indeed!

I'm not vegan/veggie (anymore) but I've eaten most of the ranges over the years.

Those kebab meats are great, my missus gets them and I always find myself stealing pieces out of the pan. I like Sainsbury's shroom dogs, decent for a sat morning sausage sandwich.

My overall favourite though is the Quorn Hot n Spicy burgers by a mile. 2 of them in a decent sourdough roll, topped with salad and mayo with a corn on the cob and some sweet pot wedges is a personal favourite.

I want that for dinner now
