Mainstream news media has a huge problem in the age of YouTube and Twitter. We just don't need them anymore. Not only can you get information faster, if you watch the actual source you can often get the truth, devoid of editing or editorial. We really need to turn off our tvs

Unfortunately this means that news media has either become skewed towards their subscriber base - e.g. more extreme left or right, or uses hyperbole to attract attention. And they resort to dodgy stuff like posting negative comments in their own article comments section to generate argument and keep people on the page longer (and therefore exposed to ads).
You're right about this. I use BBC as "a broad starter" for quick UK news, but on a topic which I find more interesting I'll look on Twitter for more detail, or look at the the actual source, and who they actually are. The more important it is to me, the more I'll look into it, and look more into what the other actual experts are saying. Tend to find those that go into more detail, or use more independent sources are the ones are the ones I listen to the most.Mainstream news media has a huge problem in the age of YouTube and Twitter.
