Hasn’t he said that he wasn’t forced out?Even dafter when you realise he didn’t want to leave, it was us that forced him out. A monumentally staggering decision
Yep true, they offered £6m & we refused them, crazy I knowDid that actually happen!? - I must have somehow missed that one LOL.... But it sounds like madness.
Been watching the Leeds documentary on Amazon Prime, Bamford was asked about the move, it was Victor Orta who instigated and he said to Bamford, ‘I bet I am the most hated person in Middlesbrough now...’...
Well he got that wrong as I can think of some one we hate moreBeen watching the Leeds documentary on Amazon Prime, Bamford was asked about the move, it was Victor Orta who instigated and he said to Bamford, ‘I bet I am the most hated person in Middlesbrough now...’...
Eh They were below us in the league at the time and we’d been in the top flight before them.who went on to better things,
He’s happened across “better things” now hasn’t he? If he wasn’t, nobody would be rueing the decision.Eh They were below us in the league at the time and we’d been in the top flight before them.
Better things ???
Whilst I always liked him, I don’t think I could say with certainty that he’d have been just as good for us as he is for Leeds at the moment. I think it’s underestimating Bielsa’s influence a bit.
We didn't even get close to being that lucky. They waited until he scored against Sheff Utd in our opening home game of the 17/18 season before offering £6m.Yeah, they tried to buy him just after we were relegated.
In fairness, we weren't really to know just how big a waste of money he would prove to be at that point.
The worst he'd done was that missed header against Swansea.
But then we also brought in three more expensive strikers whilst keeping him, some utterly baffling decisions have been made in the last few years.
Absolute rubbish. A £15m striker doesn't sign on lower wages than a £6m one. Give your head a shake.Bamford will have been on more than Britt, I’d imagine. We can’t be far off receiving the full £10m for him given their promotion as well. We’d have done well to get that for Britt.
He scored more goals per minute under Pulis than he did under Bielsa in two Championship seasons, and our side was vastly more defensive.
He'd have continued to do a good job here, if he was played, plus his ball control is infinitely better than Assombalonga's.
I think he would have done really well under Warnock, ignoring butterflies.
You are one of the very very small number of posters who continue to defend pulis.Yeah the Gazette published loads of articles about it. But people seem to want to believe that it was 100% down to Pulis bullying him out of the club when Bamford himself said Pulis was great about it.
We sold a player who went on to better things, it’ll happen again, to us, and to every other football club in the land.
So I don’t always follow the crowd - what’s your point? You are one of the very very small number of posters who continue to defend pulis.
Obviously then you cling to pulis' rubbish, even about Bamford.
Bamford is a bright lad, he's never bad mouthed people at clubs he's left. Even with Dyche at Burnley he didn't say anything negative personally. He's a very intelligent bloke with class. So I don’t always follow the crowd - what’s your point?
Bamford himself (not Pulis) said he had no issue with Pulis. I know you passionately want that to be the case, but if you won’t even believe what Bamford says about it, maybe your own convinction isn’t as bulletproof as you seem to believe on this.
