Leaving the Usyk Fury fight to one side. There are some cracking fights coming up over the next few weeks:

Sat 25th March

Okolie v Light - WBO World Title Fight (Sky Sports)

Heaney v Flatley - Rematch after Heaney got a controversial Technical Decision on the Joyce undercard last year. It looked a deliberate headbutt. A bit of a grudge match. (BT Sport)

Plant v Benavidez - Eliminator to become mandatory for Canelo for Undisputed Super Middleweight. (Not on UK TV but should be able to get a stream)

Sat 1st April

Joshua v Franklin - Comeback fight. I get a lot of people see this as a nonsense fight, but it's important for AJ to get in and show whether he has recovered from the Usyk fights. It's an interesting fight for me. Yes AJ should win easy and he needs to if he wants any chance of ever fighting at the top level again. It's not a given. We've seen better fighters than AJ not comeback after a couple of losses.

Sat 8th April

Quiet week in terms of British boxing but Shakur Stephenson fights in the US

Stephenson v Yoshino

Sat 15th April

Joyce v Zhang - Can the Juggernaught keep his momentum. Another step up in opponent in which could be his last before he gets a World Title Shot. He is currently the WBO mandatory in line to face Usyk next. (BT Sport)

Garcia v Davis - One of the best fights in the last couple of years. Long anticipated.

Sat 22nd April

Cordina v Rakhimov - IBF Super Featherweight - Cordina trying to win back the IBF world title after it was stripped from him. He pulled out of a fight against Rakhimov in 2022. Both fighters are unbeaten and hit hard. Should be a good fight. (DAZN)

Sat 29th April

Sat 6th May

Canelo v Ryder - Undisputed Super Middleweight - Can't see anything other than an easy vistory for Canelo as he takes a rare fight at home before fighting the winner of Plant v Benavidez. However always good to see British fighters take on the worlds best. Ryder has been unlucky previously. He was robbed against Callum Smith and is better than his record suggests.

Inoue v Fulton - WBO/WBC Unification fight - Could be a cracker. Fully expect Inoue to come out on top but Fulton can give him potentially his toughest fight to date. - BEEN POSTPONED TO JULY

Sat 13th May

Can't see anything of interest this week as it stands

Sat 20th May

Lomachenko v Haney - Undisputed Lightweight. Another cracking fight. Haney currently undisputed and both fighter currently appearing in most people's top 10 P4P fighters in the world. If Loma is still at his best then this fight is a 50/50 fight.

Garcia v "Tank" Davis is also pencilled Sat 15th April but also has not contract in place. There is an issue in the contract over who is in control of the rematch. Would be a shame if this fight does not happen.

Will update if the fight does get signed.

A quick bump for this thread. 3 good fights tomorrow night.
Shame Okolie will likely clash with Heaney but I'll be recording Heaney to watch on Sunday morning.

Stopped reading when I seen 'Zhang another set up in opponent' ?!

Total non event that one
He probably is a step up from the current Joeseph Parker who has turned into a bit of a journeyman. Zhang arguably beat the unbeaten Hrgovic although it was a poor fight.

Zhang will pose a different challenge to Parker, he carries more power.

Yes, i fully expect Joyce to win, but he can't go in there complacent.

If you think it's non event, then don't watch it 🤣. I think it's a good opportunity to see Joyce back in action. No need to make the cocky comment

Isn't there light heavyweight boxing on C5 tonight?
Just checked there and Lyndon Arthur is fighting on CH5 tonight. Not seen anything of him personally although believe he has been touted to potentially fight at Continental/World level. He's fighting a stand in opponent tonight and is expected to win easy.

Not a fight that particularly interests me.

If people are getting excited by that calibre of heavyweight fighting then the sport is truly not what it was.

Boxing a shambles of a sport these days
