Up, down, turn around

...tonight I think I'll walk alone,
To find myself as I go home

Love that song, first heard it in Havana, Linthorpe Road, anyone remember that place?

I've still got the original Temptation 7" single that plays at 33rpm.

Part of the soundtrack of my youth. 1982, what a year.

Boro Fur looking at your pic I can see you are a big Furs fan. I brought most of my records here with me when I came in 88, and added hundreds more once here. but my house burnt down and I lost them all. They included the Sex Pistols 7 inch single of the interview with them at the Rock Garden, Anarchy on EMI and numerous rare ones, and dozens of great bootlegs.
BUT the one that I miss the most is my Dumb Waiters 7 inch with the flexi disc on the front that I got the whole band to autograph when I saw them at Hammersmith Odeon (about 86 from memory)
I've got it again, but without the autographs it's not the same as they held special memories. That Hammersmith Palais
gig was my first date with the Kiwi lass i'd just met in London and the reason I am now in NZ.
First saw the Furs at the ROck Garden in about 1980 I think of the Sister Europe Tour, then at Futurama possible the same year.
A great band who keep producing outstanding music...

Saw the chills at the weekend, they remind me of the furs, especially the early stuff

Great story bungy (apart from your house burning down obviously). Got into the Furs in 81 so was too young/unaware of them to go to the Rock Garden gig. That Hammersmith Odeon gig might have been 1984. I went down to see it on the National Express with my girlfriend (now my wife) as a 17 year old. I've been to see The Furs all over the UK and a few years ago I went to see them in Spain 3 nights on the bounce. Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid. I loved that period from 80 to 84 when bands like Simple Minds, The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen etc. put out some great stuff before they became 'big.

People often say the Eighties was awful for music but for me 80-83 poss 84 was a golden period. Many fantastic albums released then. Granted the latter half of the decade wasn't quite so good but the first half, wow!
