Unusual Cover Versions

This isn't a cover version but an unusual original with a mesmerising four minute intro - White Rabbit
 
You may as well end this thread now as nothing will come close to this for unusual covers. A cover of the Divinyls song.

Ok, a few for ya.
The Dixie Chicks have covered a few of Patty Griffin songs .... but this is the best. Amazing song by an amazing writer (written from the POV of a dying man who has not treated the women in his life too well).
Go along for the whole journey. You may get something in your eye.

 
First Aid kit have done loads of covers ... search youtube for their performances at the Swedish grammies that reduced Patti Smith and Paul Simon to tears.
But they weren't that "unusual". This is unusual in that it's a weird choice of song. Fever Ray's "When I Grow Up". And if you haven't seen the video for the original ... search for that too. It's genius.
First Aid Kit were basically kids when they did this. Astonishing.
