I often find answering the call in Cypriot seems to do the trick. A lot of it is random dialling in the hope someone answers. Bizarre that it all went quiet during look down, i wonder if they were furloughed as well :)

I wish I could help. If you find a solution please let me know. My mum gets nuisance calls all the time. I honestly think more should be done to crack down in it. It’s one thing I hate with a passion that could be described as fury. Praying on the vulnerable and needy.

also, what happens if you have a loved one in hospital, terminally ill? And you’re waiting for THAT phone call? And every few hours a scammer calls? This actually happens to me, which helps describe my hatred of them.

I agree more should be done, but there is zero interest until money is lost. Action Fraud won't even open a case if no money has been handed over. The mental effect this sort of scam can have on the elderly, many who rely on their phones to remain connected to people, is underestimated and totally ignored by those in authority.

Absolutely. Which is why I’m totally on board with the people on here who waste the time of scammers. Like you say, this doesn’t help the elderly, including my mother, who have to suffer from a daily abuse.

Depends on the mobile and network. Most companies, especially Apple, really don’t care about call quality. They are more concerned about fitting cameras into their phones then call quality. Look at any modern mobile review. Not one of them will mention call quality.
I used to have a blackberry passport. Absolutely ridiculous phone in many ways but the call quality was exceptional. To such an extent the first few people I rang all commented on the quality and knew I had a new phone.

No its automated. I wouldnt care if they weren't so early and now around 3 times a day. It's the same number which is a mobile number. I think I will start switching the phone off when I go to bed.
Cant believe Virgin can't help me.

I think, of all the things in the world to be concerned about, me having friends interested in technology isn’t one of them.
