Unnecessary packaging

I ordered two new facemasks and received one of them today.
Having it sent in what amounts to a full size carrier bag is a bit OTT on the packaging I think.

Perhaps overly sized. But on a positive entirely recyclable.

I ordered a micro sd card which came in a box twice the size of a shoebox, full of that brown paper packing stuff. Totally ridiculous

Perhaps...... Plastics all have a recycle number associated with them. Our recycling here will only take 1 & 2.

Is it only recyclable or compostable? As NY says, not all plastic is taken for recycling. Making single-use plastic bags that are in theory recyclable but probably won't be is a cop-out.

Also, a lot of plastic taken for recycling is "recycled" to overseas, where it's dumped or burned.

Next time support your local business and buy from them, no packaging required

Or get one made, my neighbour made mine for me, it was out of an old sock but you get the point

Amazon do it all the time. I once ordered a 1m hdmi lead. I came home and they said it had been delivered to a neighbour. I thought 'how the feck didn't that fit through my letterbox?'

I'm not joking to say it was in a box similar in size to a shoe box..... Madness.
