UK supermarket inflation reaches record high

Aldi's prices have gone through the roof in the last year. Tesco express aswell, i get you pay more in an express because they're local and dont have to travel to the big tesco but still, some things are almost double the price in there than they are in the normal tesco.

The thing is, if you go to a Tesco Local although you will pay more you will spend less. If I pop into the supermarket for one item I tend to find I will buy other things and before you know it you have spent £20 to £30 instead of a few quid.

Everywhere has seen big price increases - but that still makes Aldi and Lidl cheaper for a lot of things. I can see their market share increasing a bit more

Alot of the items i used to buy in Aldi have doubled, their % rises must be higher than the usual supermarkets.

I said this last night to the Mrs - it is OK saying "it is only 6p here or 10p there", but the products only cost £1-1.50 so you're looking at nigh on 10% rises in some case.

A chocolate mousse we get has gone from £1.09 to £1.39 in a matter of weeks.

My kids love the frankfurters, in the last 12 months they doubled from £1 to £2.

The mini steak pies they do have gone from £1 to £1.70.

They are the two biggest jumps I’ve noticed.

Cheese from £1.50 to £2 is a hefty jump as well.

The prices in tesco are going up massively over the last month. My favourite crisps were always £1. Now £1.50.

12 pack of Sol lager has gone up £2 ....😕

I don't live on crisps and lager lol. Just showing the real world significant price rise.

The main Brexit effects on food and drink prices will only be felt once the government implement the checks at the border for imports that they're obliged to do.

I can't see that this government will do it. They'll let the next lot pick up the pieces and the blame.

I used to buy 500gm tins of Free-Trade Arabic Coffee Granules.
Last year they were £22 on Amazon. Now the price is £42`s !!!
Ridiculous.

Aldi just isn't cheap. Prices are similar to places like Asda and Morrisons etc.
Supermarket prices are on the up daily. Cat food, up several pounds, alpro yoghurt was £1.30 now it is £2.20 in a year. Heinz soup £1.70 - for bloody soup. I walk around them just shaking my head.

Prices will never come down.
