UK pensioners v Illegal immigrants.

There's a message constantly been shared on facebook claiming illegal immigrants/asylum seekers get nearly £30,000 per year, and comparing this to the UK's state pension of £6,000 per year.

The inference being that our state pension is so poor due to said illegal immigrants/asylum seekers being given so much money.

A claim that's right up there with the £350 million a week for the NHS.

It stuns me just how many memes get shared online by people that are clearly far right lies and easily fact checked to prove they are nonsense. Point it out to those sharing them though and they just get vitriolic and refuse to acknowledge they're based on lies.

The sharing of such lies should be an offence. It’s ridiculous how dumbed down we have become in this country, with millions believing memes on social media as a reliable source of information rather than using common sense and checking things.

Sadly, there seems to be a few of them frequent this board too.
 
The word in the OP says it all. Illegal. Illegals should get zero, not a penny from the tax payers of the UK. Deportation is the only deterrent. Not sure what benefits a legal immigrant gets, maybe someone can enlighten me. just did some quick research looks like they get around 37 pounds per week.
