UK Debt tops £2 trillion debt for first time on record

Mind you we didnt have enough Police or Army to impliment it. They will have to extend furlough or pay related earnings to the unemployed.

Sorry mate but he's done loads of work for human rights, one prosecution case doesn't change that.

Light blue, nope it's balanced, he believes in curbing excess and protecting peoples rights and supporting those at the bottom of society. He believes in public ownership of the rails and several of other socialist policies. He's a pragmatic socialist which is better than an extremist socialist or capitalist like we had at the last election

Its money that brings the control, theyve always been able use like marionettes,not this time though. Theyre fkd if they know what to do.

I've seen the term lite blue and tory lite multiple times in recent weeks, it particularly seems to be pushed on twitter, probably Cummings bot army pushing that story. I've also sen it in some labour groups on facebook, which I have now left. I was only ever in those groups because I wanted to see the tories defeated at last election, and they're more left than a pragmatist like me would like to see, but what I see is threads started about Starmer effectively not having any socialist drive and labour members should revolt against him. The reality is that these people in these groups are more than likely Tory plants looking to sow discourse.

£1trillion of our national debt is owed the the Bank of England, which is owned by our government- so in essence ourselves. So we basically owe ourselves half of the national debt, which isn't really debt at all.
 
Bizarre these 2019 labour voters. The tories carry out in spending terms likely what a labour government would have and get criticised for it. There’s a thread on here stating about Germany giving everyone a years furlough payments = good and used to criticise the government. Now on here we have let’s criticise for any furlough payments. Make your minds up.

It’s almost as if some can’t stomach a Tory government delivery a labour position regarding the economy

We are commenting on the debt position we are in. It is a matter of fact it is the worse ever. It is also the worst in the G7.
Yes, you can say its all about Covid if you want.
If you look at the debt trend pre Covid it was staggeringly high and had been rising for years.
Presumably that was ok too.
I’m not clever enough to understand what Labour ‘might’ have done and extrapolate it into the Covid world. What I do recall though is we were told there wasn’t enough money to do some of the things promised.
Turns out there is a way to find money when you want.
