TV Series they should bring back

It was probably too much of its time and hugely dependent on its actors charm and chemistry, but I’d love to see The Beiderbecke Affair redone.

Mckenzie Crook would do a good job of getting the tone and pace right, Toby Jones would be perfect. However I can’t think of anyone who could come near the wondrous Barbara Flynn.

Sportstime( I think it was called).
Tynetees 10.30 pm on a Friday in the late 70's.
Loads of footy stuff on NE clubs.
Great start to the weekend, part of the pre-match build up.

Was usually followed by DOUBLE TOP, introduced by George Taylor. "This week on Double Top, it's Hartlepool Corporation Club vs Throckley and District Social Club"

Malcolm in The Middle was a big favourite of mine, hilarious imho and the characters grow on you weekly. Modern family is also another one that builds weekly and funny as.

Have we become to sensitive to make comedy like this anymore?

The Prisoner - so modern in 1967, the furniture, the clothes, the colours, the surrealness, the car, the role of woman - a complete contrast with black and white Britain of the early 1960s. The strange but terrifying orange bubbles, the faceless controllers, not knowing who was real and what the agenda was. To a young child even more weird.

Another pick - The Addams Family

Didn’t they try bringing Fantasy Football back for the euro’s or World Cup once and it was rubbish.

I still liked it.

Not sure they'd have much material these days, with everything already being on Twitter and what not.

All of the clips on Soccer AM, I've already seen during the week.

If you look at US TV then I think you can see why it's not always a good idea. I'm thinking of Magnum, Hawaii 5-0 and others that they've redone. Best to leave the classics alone.

I would second asred regarding Utopia though as it is not only recent, but the door was left wide open for more.

I'd say the same for a continuation of Hannibal.

Another thing to consider is that we tend to limit the number of episodes which arguably adds to the lasting impression that some shows leave.

for me, it has to be The Bill, I still watch the old episodes on a Sat morning on W......they could easily resurrect this one and start some new series.......as our song went on our European Tours, Geordies at home, watching The Bill......(y)
'Help'

It's not fair that Paul Whitehouse should be punished.

Prisoner Cell Block H on the same set with the shaky walls (with the original characters if they're not dead) Wentworth just isn't the same...

"Another pick - The Addams Family"

It was brought back in the late 90s. Not sure if it ever was shown here.

But at the end of the day you just can't replace John Astin and the gorgeous Carolyn Jones. f097492a8c8c9f51035919e5a570425a.jpg
