TV & BROADBAND

Hi all!

I was wondering if anybody had taken a recent subscription and could recommend a package.

I'm currently with SKY (broadband + TV with Sky Movies, Sky Sports) and paying £65 pm. It's due for renewal and they are quoting £100 pm - that's a hefty price hike.

I could live with paying about the same but not almost double.

Thanks in advance!

I think if you went broadband only, then paid for the subscriptions to Netflix and Amazon prime for movies, and then just paid for the sports you want to watch via NowTV, BT Sports or Eurosport, you could come out pretty much the same as you pay now.

Update:
The original quote for renewal: 100. Customer service: £90. Spoke to different det who suggested I speak to the "offers" dept.
I had already found an offer on "Comparethemarket" and that came in at £75 (Thanks for the suggestions chaps). I spoke to a decent lad in their offers dept and he said yeah, no probs - We'll match that!

After 2 years I can live with a £10 increase!!

Many thanks for the suggestions!

Was in a similar case to you Wiseman and Sky department Retentions reduced offer by £40 which was OK for all Sky including phone calls and fibre broadband.

The best offers you get are basically when you tell them to cancel; they will ring you during the cancellation period (which you can cancel at any time). You can often get really good prices that way, but as long as you’re happy with it that’s the main thing

I was just wondering about a subscription... though balk at the 18 month - variable price - 'contract' having been with Virgin before.. so I decided on the £25pm (£30 after 3 months if I want HD) NowTV subscription - cancel anytime... gives me all the sports &can watch on serveral devices.. plus immediate connection... works very well for my needs.

in all honesty 70 odd quid is more than I would like to pay, but I get a good internet connection, can watch the cricket through summer and Footie as and when.
