Tui close to going bust? - A Rumour

TUI to me are the M&S of the holiday world - if they go it will be a big shock - but ICI vanished and they were one of the biggest chemical producers in the World.
ICI went over a period of time, accelerated by splitting their company into two - Zeneca for drugs and ICI for fertilizers. Zeneca still going strong with each of their shares worth over £100 after their merger with Astra

A rumour and a dangerous one at that. Not going bust.
Yep.

Just had a catch up with a friend who has recently returned from Florida using TUI as their holiday provider. Flew into Melbourne in Florida which is up near Cape Canaveral. TUI are investing heavily in the airport there as it's quite small. Doesn't sound like something a company about to go bust would do.

I was delayed 4 hrs getting back from Skiathos on Friday due to late arrival of inbound flight from Manchester. As we were delayed there were no Swissport staff to connect steps or remove baggage when we landed so we were stuck on the plane for an hour. Tui staff were brilliant and I filled in their online claim form while we waited and yesterday got email confirmation they're paying me £350 delay comp within 14 days.

Jet2 have their own baggage handlers so not reliant on swissport
