Treading water

Shay Given
Ikeme
Paul Smith.......
They’re weren’t our main no 1 though as we had credible back ups or injured first teamers now we have bettinelli and his back up as yet has never played a game for us.

to me that’s a concern it might not be to you but it doesn’t make it any less valid as being an issue.

Treading water? We nearly drowned last season.

a season where we haven’t been able to go to games. A pandemic and the season shoe horned into a ludicrously short time with numerous restrictions. I couldn’t care less about this season. It’s been a bit of a distraction for which I’m thankful. Main result is that people involved come out with their health

I don't think it really matters that he's here on loan (year long one is fine). The issue is that he's *****!

To be fair to Bettenelli he was a bit better today with the few bits he had to do. I’m not so sure he can be blamed for the goal.. And funnily enough his misskick was the catalyst for our goal.

I want some direction and a plan to support that direction. Nothing more.
Pretty tough given the pandemic and the state the club was in when Warnock came in.

sides over performed this season. Maybe a change to reset in the summer. Wouldn’t count on it as various managers have said some things aren’t right

Warnock has dragged us up from relegation candidates to play off hopefuls in a remarkably short time. To describe us a rudderless ship is frankly laughable.
A journeyman manager ? Who did you think we could get instead Pep ?
Of course we have a plan, Warnock is getting his men lined up ready for next season where we will have a proper go at this league....

That’s my point Zorro. Today was a good point. We’ve over achieved this season. But my point is a wider one. What are we? What do we want to be? What’s the plan? What’s the ambition?
These are fair questions to ask, at the moment I’d class us in rebuild and stabilise. No idea of any plans past May mind

100%. We avoided the disaster of relegation not even a year ago and the entire league is operating this season with one arm tied behind their backs due to Covid restrictions. That's probably slowed down what the club can do behind the scenes too. If we're still having this conversation this time next February then fair enough. We've got 13 games left and we'll lose half of them, get results in the other half and then have a think.

I hate what we are at the moment. A misfit rabble of journeymen players, a journeyman manager and a really poor team.

The club has no direction and no ambition. We are rudderless and seem to be going nowhere. Just nothingness.

What is it we are trying to do? Just stay up? Settle for mid-table in the Champo? Is that the sum total of our ambition?

The new board comes in handy for tired old posts.

We're still hanging in there

For me NW is our best chance of doing anything either this season, or next
Without him at the helm I think with the lack of funds we'll struggle going forward over the next few seasons

The plan is we've got a manager with more promotions under his belt than you've had hot dinners. We've got a good youth set up and try to supplement that with decent loan signings and solid players. That's got more chance of us getting promotion than the Ajax lite ***** we were hearing about last year.
Not sure it does TBH we look woefully short. Agree with the OP to some extent. Loaners go back at end of season, short term contracts run out and not sure I would try to extend them. Britt and Fletcher's contracts run out and no matter what you think of them it's going to be expensive to replace them. ATM we are were we are but I fear we are stuck there.
