I hate what we are at the moment. A misfit rabble of journeymen players, a journeyman manager and a really poor team.

The club has no direction and no ambition. We are rudderless and seem to be going nowhere. Just nothingness.

What is it we are trying to do? Just stay up? Settle for mid-table in the Champo? Is that the sum total of our ambition?

It's who we are to be realistic, at moment. This is our level. What NW achieved with this lot earlier in the season was miraculous in a way. We're seeing our true level, I knew we'd burn out from around January onward .. fact is we haven't the money. If we could back Warnock, he'd be doing a far better job than he currently is.

Covid hasn't helped the club either, like every other. No one in the stands paying. It's going to be a tough Summer if we want to be more than a mid-table Championship outfit. I guess it's up to Gibbo whether he wants to risk it and truly back Warnock, bringing in the players he really wants. As opposed to the Akpom signed on the basis of a few online videos, desperate at 3 million, because every other target rejected us that have gone on to do so well. We have to become attractive to players again. We have to do a lot, lot better. Great players can be identified that will cost next to nothing, but we've never seemed to have that quality or certainly don't at the moment when it comes to spotting true talent.

I will credit Woodgate's lot though for bringing in Dijksteeel and Bola. Other than that, we're just a mid-table Championship team, skint, can't spot a player ... and have a lot of work to do if we want to improve.

It was a decent point, against a team well in form. Regardless, at least we're still improving when compared to last season. Just have to hope Warnock does hang around and we get the actual players in he wants this time. I know he has had some targets come in but majority of players he was after last Summer in particular, seemed to slip through our fingers.

I'm prepared to write off this season on the basis that we won't be relegated at least.
The acid test comes in the summer.
Who will the manager be next season?
Can we ride on the vaccine wave of hope and attract fans and money into the club?
Can we sort out our recruitment problems and attract younger, better, hungrier players (certainly on loan anyway)?
Can Gibbo free up some funds to have a decent crack at the top 6?

That’s my point Zorro. Today was a good point. We’ve over achieved this season. But my point is a wider one. What are we? What do we want to be? What’s the plan? What’s the ambition?

This.

It’s true we have a for now manager with a largely for now team look at our keeper and his back up both classic for now players we don’t even own the keeper.

it’s very short term.

Adi does make a valid point as for me I can’t ever recall relying on a keeper we don’t own as our no 1.

we are built for now that’s fine but you can’t deny there an issue with a lack of vision
