Travers

We have changed our style a bit though since Travers came in - I think going long more often is a tactical switch rather than Travers just doing it.

I felt that was happening with Brynn. A few times he as able to play balls over the head of the pressing opposition players and made them think about leaving space behind the front men. At other times he could play out from the back.

It's definitely evolved as the season has gone on. I mean you can argue about the relative success but he has tweaked our style.

It would be extremely harsh if Sol doesn't get the chance to nail down the number one position next season, he has bags of potential and could be our number 1 for the next decade.
Regarding Travers, hes been an absolutely superb signing and arguably the best shot stopper since Stephen pears, I'd love us to sign him permanently but I think it might be a difficult deal to do financially.

Hes been a great signing and without him we'd be about 14th now.

However I'll be really worried if we sign him permanently for £5 million plus.

A good keeper in this division costs around £2 million and paying a high fee for him would show we've gone backwards to the days of Britt etc.

Gibson backs his managers and Scott but I believe when we sign a player, there's belief that if we sold them we would get back what we paid for if not more.
We won't sign Sergeant or Travers, we need to sign the Sergeant or Travers before they signed for Norwich or Bournemouth.

Was it a broken collar bone and dislocated shoulder?

Travers is rumoured to be rated around £10 million isn't he? Honestly I wouldn't pay half of that for him.

I'd much sooner have Travers than Brynn tbh, so a part of me is hoping that their asking price is ridiculous so that Brynn can have another go at claiming the shirt in the summer.

Travers is a great shot stopper and good in one on one situations but I'm getting an impression he's a bit 'line bound'. He doesn't seem to come for stuff in the box even when it looks there for the taking which hasn't helped in the barrage of long throws we've faced of late.

Was about to say the same. Couple of times against SW you could see the defender was waiting for him to come out but he seemed to be rooted inside the 6 yard box. Annoyed the hell out of me

Just seen Angus Gunn is leaving Norwich after this weekend. Could be a less expensive alternative to Travers ? Even though I think Travers is a better keeper, funds could be diverted elsewhere.

Ivor Pandur at hull has impressed me, he would be a much cheaper alternative to Travers ( who has been fantastic)

We don t need Travers Sol Brynn will be Boro number 1. The only worry could be his shoulder not his ability. Spend the money on more pressing areas to improve.

Won't Glover be moving on - hence room for Travers - we need three keepers on the books especially as ours have proved injury prone.

We've had this discussion before. The 6'0" figure is clearly from old data that hasn't been updated. There are pictures showing him standing next to other players who are 6' or more and he is several inches taller than they are.

Adam Thompson, who is third from the left in this photo, is 6'1", for example.
