Anyone had any experiences of getting travel insurance when recently diagnosed with cancer? Recommendations and sites to look on would be most appreciated.

My dad has cancer and was looking to go on holiday this summer. He said he was getting quoted £7-800. It nearly finished him off lol.

In my experience it depends on the type with different companies. For example blood cancer was very expensive with some and less so with others, but then again using one for example the below was great for a single trip but the next trip they were within the most expensive we looked at.

Despite a lot of searching I couldn't find many that would do a multi-trip deal and none for a year, thus every trip I am doing a search from scratch.
I know there is risk but it appears to be a good little earner for the insurance companies.

Thanks for that. Soutra recommended a company which have quoted a pretty good price for annual cover, so I'll probably go with them.

Go away to the USA in a few weeks, managed to get insured £1800, some just wouldn't insure me.
I spoke to the Lung Health consultant yesterday, I have a chest x - ray comparison, every 4 months and a CT scan the following 4 moths. Everything looking good so far(y). Expensive insurance costs though, but you cant lie about things as the failure to let them know could affect my family. I'm hoping costs may reduce as time passes.
