Train strikes

Looks like they might scupper the Reading game for those travelling from London.835AF402-C5C9-4EAB-88CF-601E6CAE7257.jpeg

If the trains are going on strike then they have my full support. I've said it on here before. It's hard work being a train and you don't even get paid for it. I was a train for years and it was awful.

The new Elizabeth Line may still run as TFL/ MTR do not appear to be on strike, although they are the day before and disruption usually continues into the day next day.

We are looking at driving.

Ooh that’s a good call, maybe I’ll use that!

I am yet to use the new line and honestly not sure how it might be affected by all the other strikes that day as I presume it has to use a lot of the same lines/signalling out towards Reading etc. But worth keeping an eye on.

It really couldn’t come on a better game. Reading really is one of the worst away days in football. That said, I’ll be gutted when it starts and I’m not there
Why do you say that Facefuzz? I have never been, but looking at getting tickets for this one. Just wondered what is so bad about it so I am prepared.

I would tell you one of my awfully funny train puns but I doubt you would be able to keep a freight face..

DoIwinanything ?
Thanks 👍

They didn't even polish me Nobby. I spent all day on the go, with people climbing in and out of me and dropping litter inside me, They wouldn't even let me socialise with the other trains. It was really traumatic.

It’s a nice enough place but it always feels like a bit of a soulless ground/club on every visit. Ground is miles away from anything too which doesn’t really help but don’t let it put you off, it’s still a decent trip

You can do your Costco shop straight after, what’s not to love 😂

Saturday 13th is not an RMT strike day - its an ASLEF train drivers strike - 24 hours midnight to midnight - over pay.

workers withdrawing their labour is meant to cause an inconvenience - thats the whole point - blame the bosses (who have no balls) and the government (for their veto and stretching the disputes out for their own narrow ends)

I though the game was the 20th?

The 20th is one of the strike days for the RMT.

They are officially striking on the 18th and 20th as they know that there will also be disruption on the day in between.

The OP is misleading. As cap @Unravel_Morrison said, the strike on the day of the Reading match is an RMT one so the whole network is affected. The so-called Elizabeth Line will be affected no less than GWR on that day.
