Train Strikes for Reading

In case anyone wasn’t aware..

No service from Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads which is the London to Reading route.

I believe you can jump on the Elizabeth line instead that runs to Reading 👍🏼

How many have sold so far do we know?

So Elizabeth line will be running but with a “reduced service” whatever that means! I might risk it!
I'd be very wary of that, it may mean reduced as in only running a reduced service on the london underground infrastructure and zero service on the network rail infrastructure.

Ah ok I see.
Its only my speculation, but as that track is not london underground territory, I assume as nowt else is running on it, no-one will be looking after safety signals etc. So Elizabeth line trains wont be able to use it either. We're driving and picking up nephew and a mate from edge of the underground proper network on route.

A bit more info from the local press.

Saturday - There will be a reduced service on the London Overground and Elizabeth line due to the impact of the national rail strike on shared track and assets. Services running are expected to be busy and may not be able to stop at all stations. Overground will be operational between 8am and 6pm only and there will be a heavily reduced service after 6pm on the Elizabeth line, including the central section from Paddington to Abbey Wood.

Tube to Heathrow and non stop bus to Reading an option?

I used to get the Heathrow/Reading bus regularly, it was a decent service, hourly at the time.

There's a bus strike on too but mainly north west london routes

Scabs gonna scab

I'm driving. Far too much ******* on.. which is why I guess they do it on the days they do.

Will be a stretch to get back for the AJ fight.

My concern would be getting back to Reading Station for the last train at 1800, those shuttle bus queues were pretty long last year.
