Trafalgar Sq. Now

That’s not what I said is it? Just wondering why you’re focusing on the white, middle aged people, I never said that. Yet you weren’t too happy with the BLM protests were you? And weren’t you put on the naughty step a while back for some pretty questionable comments made during a bit of a meltdown?

All I'm trying to ascertain is why some protests are treated differently to others, hence why I also included the extinction rebellion protests and the nurse pay rise protests in the comparisons.

If anything this police intervention in any protest is just going to encourage those 'up for a scrap' to infest peaceful protests. It's a shame because the messages are then lost from all the protests. All of which I fully agreed with.

So - where is the problem (apart from breaking an arbitrary rule of 6)

We have had marches, beach overcrowding and all sorts over the summer with zero evidence that any of it impacted on the virus - despite people (like today) frothing at the mouth over it.

People congregating Indoors is the problem

For all Icke's past, the only time he was ever censored from mainstream platforms is this year. One has to wonder why.

Maybe for the first time his lies are actually dangerous to the Public's health ?

I am firmly of the belief that the majority of the people there will in the not too distant future be rightly reminding us of the sacrifices that our ancestors have made to secure our freedom and we should honour that. Shame they cannot go so far as to quietly wear a mask for a few months to support the community as a whole

I think it is the irony of the protest that amuses most people.....first it is likely to tighten restrictions and secondly, they are protesting about having their health protected.....looney tunes.
The restrictions haven't done anything to stop the rise in cases though have they? Mandatory masks, cases have risen, social distancing rules, cases have risen.
Before I'm called a crank I adhere to both sets of rules when asked to.

Eh? The new restrictions have only just come in, it was the previous lapses that caused the virus to spread.

Not sure about that -
I’ve not heard any scientist say you can prevent the virus spreading.
They have said you can flatten a curve by strict measures but, as soon as they are relaxed, the virus spreads.
The virus doesn’t go anywhere it just spreads

Well not protesting hasnt worked either looking at the figures. Not that i agree with protesting. But people dont trust this lot in charge n why would you. Its not going away. Were probably best just getting on with it. And im vunerable.

Supermarkets got lackse , pubs got lackse , schools returned enmasse, Uni’s returned bringing people from all over together, it was inevitable.

There is no evidence to support the quiet wearing of masks as a measure to “support the community as a whole”. As has been pointed out, cases have risen regardless - due to increased testing. Deaths have been thankfully stagnant since even before masks were introduced.

All protests that disobey the lockdown guidelines are, however well intentioned and valid the cause, ultimately irresponsible.

The current protestors are countering their own argument by refusing to follow the guidelines and if cases continue to rise they will be blamed as contributing to the increase, there’s a very easy way to prove their case has credence, follow the guidelines and encourage others to do the same for one month, if cases don’t decrease then it backs their assertion that the current measures are wrong and ineffective.

That's because the government send mixed messages and people ignore the regulations. It all works very well in New York.

Mandatory mask use and social distancing measures have been around for ages now. Things settled down over the summer months and have started turning again as we head towards winter.

Impossible to do this in practice.

This virus is real and i believe those that need helping shoould be helped and protected but........

Domonic Raab own words on a recent TV interview stated tests are 7% accurate but we are locking down based on this.

7% accurate? I'd like to see that quote.

He said we'd only find 7% of people if we tested at the airport. (Previously it was said 15%). That's because dune people haven't developed the disease at the time of entry to the UK. Other countries test a second time to improve that figure.

I think there is far more to it than being just the winter. People have largely given up with reasonable social distancing in my experience of shops and on walks etc. I hear inside pubs and restaurants, most are managing the situation reasonably well, supermarkets less so once inside.

I think in part, mask wearing has made people think they are safer and more confident, therefore complacent too and social distancing becomes compromised.
