Whilst I don't agree with the protest, I can understand why so many people feel moved to do so when confidence in the current government is so low. Civil unrest is always higher when society mistrusts the establishment.

yes because having a different view on lockdowns completely justifies mixing in close proximity with thousands of people mid pandemic, when your job is to look after vulnerable people.

I mean they arrested a German doctor by the name of Dr Heiko Schöning.

He was due to speak to crowd at Trafalgar Square but as the police entered the square he left and went to Hyde Park where he was arrested. What for nobody knows.

I do know he is a part of a 500 strong group of German doctors who are investigating the pandemic.

I am firmly of the belief that the majority of the people there will in the not too distant future be rightly reminding us of the sacrifices that our ancestors have made to secure our freedom and we should honour that. Shame they cannot go so far as to quietly wear a mask for a few months to support the community as a whole

They also said they estimate 8% of people in the U.K. have antibodies. It kind of puts the mortality rate into perspective. If that’s true (and the governments own advisors said it), it’s not 40,000 deaths for 400,000 cases, it’s 40,000 deaths for over 5 MILLION cases.

I completely sympathise with these people protesting, millions are going to lose their jobs, more people are going to die from suicide and cancer than would of had there not been a lock down. 200,000 people can’t afford to pay their rent this month.

The fact you can meet people in a venue where dozens of other people are and where you have to spend money but not in their own home should be challenged by anyone with half a brain.

I’m completely in favour of non economically crippling restrictions like track and trace, mandatory mask wearing, temperature checks, shielding etc but the other restrictions have to go.

Any protests should be banned at this moment in time, you can’t cherry pick which ones you allow and which ones you don’t. Half the hypocrites on this board who want this stopped would be encouraging a protest if it was against the Tories. This is just going to add fuel to the fire, there’s civil unrest and riots coming.
