I think it's because Pog is so 'good' that the rest just can't let him go at any point. I'd like to think he'd suffer for it but his recovery seems unworldly at times.

And the cost is.....no-one can be arsed to get into the break today.... tbf it would be a hiding to nothing with a strong headwind all the way to Dunkerque, and the sprinters teams itching to unleash their fast men....

It would be hard on Coquard to penalise him. Especially as Philipsen is one of the worst riders for barging his way through and causing carnage.

M&Ms getting 1&2 .... they will have been smarting after stage 1.
