Tory MP lockdown breach

No mention of Barry Gardiner not observing any social distancing either. Rightly then criticised by Lisa Nandy in his own party.

Barry Gardiner has been mentioned on here but you've been 'cooling down' so you wouldn't have known.

Think you know the answer to that Gaz. This is a poster who is 70+ but uses the word “cull” regarding government policy at every chance

You get some stick on here, and rightly so at times .

But a lot of the left are just the same. The left have shown a lot of hypocrisy of late, and it’s disappointing.

Wish people would call a spade a spade.

Why don’t you condemn all mp’s? Or is it tories that are fair game?

Why do people keep perpetuating this myth that it’s only Tory MPs who get stick on here, for breaching the rules? Have you not read any of the other threads about MPs breaking the rules??

It's Tories who have made these rules so they should be even more circumspect about adhering to them and setting an example - but they're not because they see themselves as part of a ruling elite that's above laws that apply to the rest of us.

Every single mp should set an example.

If you look at kuepper response below there is a lot of what he says when people challenge around labour mp’s, It was more an aim at those people who call out Cummings then apply double standards themselves

Another one to add to the list. Regardless of what colour rosette they wear they should stand down.
Jenrick, Kinnock, Corbyn, Blackford, Gardiner, Duffield, Seely, and no doubt a few more I have missed. They have all let their constituents down, have shown that they think they are above the law, cannot be trusted and therefore should not be in office.

Frustration abound with politians these days.
I find it hard to have trust or confidence in any of them, which I guess is unfair because some of them are representing constituencies well.
It's a difficult time in politics and we need a strong focused government, do we have that? Not in my opinion

Everyone who has broken the rules should be reprimanded and dealt with appropriately. However, there has to be a nuanced approach to this - to try to say there is equivalence between all the names mentioned is disingenuous. When one person is a big factor in setting the rules and he then blatantly breaks them, driving 260 miles while symptomatic and following it up by blatantly lying about his eyesight that is a different position to some of the others who have broken the rules. To suggest it's a one-size-fits-all situation is incorrect.

You missed the man at the helm for a start, and a number of his cabinet members, plus the ignorant buffoon who has forced MPs to break the guidelines.

In fairness - the guy has apologised saying he made a wrong decision and should have left the event.
It was a tough call and understandable given the circumstances
