Tory MP defects to Labour

A Tory MP feeling quite comfortable in switching allegiance to Labour just highlights how far right Labour have shifted under that tosser Starmer's so called 'leadership'. Definitely nothing to celebrate. Quite the opposite in fact.

For any MP to cross the floor in any direction shows what a selfish lot of unprincipled people they really are. Its like any of us deciding to start attending Newc/Sland games because they have a nicer kit or just won their last game. If I was KS I would have told him to go do one and make it public that he had wanted to defect. Might have mad more political capital by doing that.

Lets see if a by-election is forthcoming. Unusually he would probably win., but I bet he doesn't have the balls to do it.

For me it would have been astute for Starmer to invite the MP across and as he walked over, to send him back. Starmer could have argue that, with his disgraceful voting record, Labour wouldn’t accept him. Would have shown Labour were different to the Tories. Plus it would have been funny as f@#k.
Problem with that is that Labour are no different to The Tories right now. Depressing stuff.

Tribalism is great isn't it? You either think they way I do or you're my enemy.

Politics is about changing enough people's minds to win an election, if all of the red wall MP switched to Labour or any other party they would be welcome to do so as they still represent their constituents.

Disagree with a lot of this. I’m afraid I can’t find any empathy whatsoever for any MP who defects mid term. Regardless of which party they represent.
He was elected by his constituents as a Conservative.
Should stand for re-election but of course self preservation means he won’t.

What a sh1t show it all is.

In less than six weeks Johnson has lost two MPs from his 80 seat majority, is being openly asked to resign in the house of commons by former colleagues and is out of answers. Hope he stays on for another year.

Also, despite Wakeford being one of those weasels who is always looking for a way to save himself first, he's never going to be able to vote for measures that target the poor for the rest of this parliament.
