I agree a by-election within 6 months should be the result of something like this, not just a 7 day suspension.

Yes I work full time, not from home, and indeed I have been doing so all through the Covid-19 crisis.
From time to time I allow myself a little indulgence by getting a rise out of Tory apologists much like yourself.

7 days suspension when parliament isn't even sitting properly, that's a really harsh punishment. No surprise to discover he's a former asst to Boris Johnson which would undoubtedly not have been a factor in determining such a heavy penalty.

As for the clown in question, it seems that he was allowed to apologise rather than face a meaningless ‘punishment’ he resigned instead? Not the brightest, but there’s no competition for the brightest in this govt
