Tory government for ever ?

Martin Luther King, Jr., reminded us that “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” Change takes a long time, but it does happen. ...
I give this lot 2,3 years before the **** show starts to crumble.
I reckon less than that.
Now the edifice is beginning to crumble.
This new normality is already leaving more children in poverty
People living hand to mouth.
People have already experienced evictions and the housing crisis is the worst on record.
The number of temporary jobs and casual labour, alongside cuts in spending on housing, health and social care is already having a serious negative impact on millions of vulnerable, long term sick and disabled people.

There is a tipping point in every generation and it often starts with what at first seems trivial.
Those institutions and resources which held ordinary people for decades - which created support, friendships and bonds is a hollow shell and the fabric of our world has been creaking for many years.

Not the "values" espoused on the box by politicians and millionaires,
But the values of sharing, caring for each other and supporting each other in times of need.
Those values are etched on civilised society and comes a time when the straw breaks the camels back.

They can use force and truncheons, tear gas, tasers and torture.
They can beat people in their cells and put the knee on the necks of innocent protesters.
But take strength from those who survived nazism and the ovens of Treblinka and Auschwitz.

Take hope from imprisoned Palestinian children and from those fighting tyranny in Saudi Arabia and around the world.
The light of hope is what drives people on to overcome what at first appears insurmountable.
Hope is like a candle.
It will always light our hearts in the darkest hour.
No force can exstinguish that light.
We have it to light our path, whilst all around the demons and devils of power and corruption fall.
Hope is the fuel to enable us to carry on(y)

Whatever, Labour are screwed. And not even current

Seems like a whole new party needs to rise from the ashes.

Needs to become the party of electoral reform and percentage voting system. In order for a progressive government to form. Under first past the post the party with 36% vote share dominates that is wrong when the other 64% of people disagree with the current government's viewpoint

Whoever gets into power after the tories need to push through polictical reform to a PR system. The conservatives would never have a majority again
Totally agree however, we are going to lose Scotland to independence of that I’m convinced and Ireland around a similar time therefore it’ll be England and Wales with the welsh then pressing for the same referendum.
By then we’ll be in Spain and will watch the Tory brexit little England thrive 🤣

You are right but a future Labour government should not ever allow the Tories to curtail their spending as they have done in the past.

‘The cupboard is bare’.

‘There is no magic money tree’.

Never again will the Tories have any credibility with these statements after the last 12 months.
Yes they will
The right wing media lie for them and confuse the wavering voters to the point that they believe they are Tories
I know so many of them and with a voting system that is rigged for them to win not much changes

the only hope is the electoral commission refer boris to the police and he is forced to resign for what he done
That would be the Tory game changer

The effect of 'long Corbyn' will take years and years to get over

That's it for me. There was a chance of something new and fresh, yet JC wasn't up for the job. He has set Labour back decades. So disappointing. Right attitude, wrong bloke
Corbyn should do the right thing and stand down as former leader of the Labour party.

Lovely words but unless Labour has more appeal to 'the working man' there will never be change.

It is tragic that we have become a more selfish society than ever before.
While worthy causes people in the Uk simply won't vote to help imprisoned Palestinian Children and Joe average doesn't think tyranny in Saudi will effect him one jot.

I really don't know what the answer is. Does anyone? How to turn the tide of this insular popularist driven selfishness?

It's just so awful to see young people being more interested getting 'influenced' by some facile utterly pointless individual on tik tok or youtube than the disgustingly high numbers of children born into and facing poverty fro the rest of their lives under a Tory Govt.
