Tory government for ever ?

Is that what we’re looking at ? The Labour Party has torn itself apart from within, with the right seemingly sabotaging its very own leaders chances of winning at the last election. The left have been purged resulting in the loss of support from much of its socialist base - where does the party go from here ? Even if you are a Tory voter it can’t be good for anyone having a government that can basically do what ever it pleases with zero opposition - we’ll end up with little more than a dictatorship if we’re not careful here. I dread what the future holds for my kids if they stay in this country

Sadly there is no opposition.

It’s looking very much like it, labour need Scotland and Wales to hold power and Scotland has all but gone.

There’s needs to be new left wing party with serious credibility
A corbyn type person who is cleaner cut.

personally I would like to say a woman head it up

I dont even understand what Labour have done so wrong to force everyone to vote for this bunch of clowns, making their millions out of Brexit, appointing contracts to their friends and family, takign back handers, overseeing an horrendous covid death rate etc.

It will turn, like it did for Thatcher and co, give it a couple of years when the corporation tax goes up and companies start pulling their horns in.

Johnson may not survive the sleaze yet, the Tories may oust him themselves.

Scotland will be far more important politically than Hartlepool, the Tories will not want to oversee the destruction of the Queens Kingdom.

Loads of things can go wrong for Johnson, he’s a bit of a thumbs up clown who is good at conning people that he is on their side and he’s possibly given a certain section of the population their Brexit but there will be an aftermath, it’s very volatile.

The young need to get out and vote.

Not honouring the Brexit result for 3+ years - trying every trick in the book to delay parliament, sending letters to the EU behind the UK's government back, calling people who voted for Brexit all sorts of names, do we need to go on?

Enjoy your day mushroom because it could all come crashing down over the next couple of years.

30 million voters have been very well looked after this last 12 months, mostly in the Tory voting older age group.

Despite the media focus on Starmer the truth is that Johnson couldn’t fall off in these elections - except of course in Scotland....

I'm 32 - I haven't had a penny from the UK government for years.... even during the pandemic

It's lost on me but people who have no interest in politics absolutely love Johnson.

Once Johnson is no longer tory leader then things will open up again I think.

Labour need to find a charismatic character to win a popularity contest against the next tory leader, I can't think of anyone who is a natural Johnson replacement.

Politics has always been a popularity contest but it's beyond a joke now.

Pidcock and Sultana?
Piddock was a good MP from what I saw.

don’t know a lot about sultana. Both are young, and a young leader can relate to young people. Socialist values relate to young people. It could work.

you could have them in senior roles behind RLB

Forget it. England always has been and for as long as I can think ahead will remain a conservative (and hence a Conservative voting) country. When the public inevitably get tired of this and future conservative governments there will be little dalliances with a watered down Conservatism (New Labour in its current guise) until the public get cold feet and revert to type. It's in the blood of enough english people to endure for many more generations. If you heard Warnock today you'll see a prime example of why. I'm afraid you're stuck with them.

I wasn’t suggesting you had, apologies if I gave that impression, my post was just a general comment and not meant to sound personal other than enjoy your party’s success.
