And I wonder which political party told them that down south??"it feels like all the money is being spent up north while the south is putting it all in"
It's all over the media, I live down south, I've heard moaning from locals that the blue wall is getting everything nowAnd I wonder which political party told them that down south??
Me too, a lot of Dorset locals having a proper whinge on about it. While my hometown is finally getting the investment it so badly needed. Honestly, the level of why, why aren't we getting that investment staggers me. They've had it 30 years, that its almost become expected. Its daft. It's all over the media, I live down south, I've heard moaning from locals that the blue wall is getting everything now
It was inevitable, plus the south has more to lose from Brexit because it is less on its knees than most of the north. It's all over the media, I live down south, I've heard moaning from locals that the blue wall is getting everything now
The poolies are too busy fighting the brexit war and celebrating those extra food banksIt was inevitable, plus the south has more to lose from Brexit because it is less on its knees than most of the north.
Mind you £25m here and there in the North to give a few town centre railings a lick of paint and a bit of new block paving won’t suddenly transform the prospects of the local economy, no matter what the Poolies think.
Didn’t they lose most of their seats?., and their leader went quicker than summer snow
Votes are no good if you don't win seats, Thatcher never won more than 49.5% of the electoral vote but she won three elections. The seats that were lost were mostly those of deserters from other parties who joined in 2019. Jo Swinson also lost hers. The LibDems' vote share went up to 11.5% from 7.4% in 2017.
Thatcher never got anywhere near 49% of the vote, her best was about 43%.Votes are no good if you don't win seats, Thatcher never won more than 49.5% of the electoral vote but she won three elections.
Even worse.Thatcher never got anywhere near 49% of the vote, her best was about 43%.
It was hard to tell if you were bulling up Thatcher or making a point about FPTP, but do agree the voting system is flawed whoever is in.Even worse.
Dominics cummings touches on it today. Same happening in America. Conservatives are holding the views on less educated people as they have become populist/nationalist and tapped into vote leave.would be typical of 'the north east' to go blue when the rest of the country is turning Red.
since the last great war 'the south' have never had it so good and importantly they want it to stay that way.
Ye the clue is in liberal……The LibDem vote didn't collapse in 2019, as claimed above, despite a stupid and self-defeating campaign.
At the moment the LibDems support Universal Basic Income (as do Greens and SNP), which is surely a touchstone of "leftishness".
I was making the point that increasing your vote percentage means nothing if it doesn't result in seats won. It's the equivalent of having most of the possession in a game and getting beat,(hi there Boro). It was hard to tell if you were bulling up Thatcher or making a point about FPTP, but do agree the voting system is flawed whoever is in.
They're protesting against the building of houses also. A bit like protesting against the building of a hospital.A bit unfair to call them Nimbys.
I mean, it's not a Youth Club getting built.
Are they protesting against the building of a hospital or is that just something you've thrown in for 'outrage' value? They're protesting against the building of houses also. A bit like protesting against the building of a hospital.
