Tories close gap on Labour to 1 point

These 18-24 year old polls will always yield the same results.

As the saying goes:

"If you are not a liberal at 25, then you have no heart. If you are still a liberal at 35 then you have no brain".

'Folk wisdom has long held that people become more politically conservative as they grow older, although several empirical studies suggest political attitudes are stable across time. Using data from the Michigan Youth-Parent Socialization Panel Study, we analyze attitudinal change over a major portion of the adult life span. We document changes in party identification, self-reported ideology, and selected issue positions over this time period and place these changes in context by comparing them with contemporaneous national averages. Consistent with previous research but contrary to folk wisdom, our results indicate that political attitudes are remarkably stable over the long term. In contrast to previous research, however, we also find support for folk wisdom: on those occasions when political attitudes do shift across the life span, liberals are more likely to become conservatives than conservatives are to become liberals, suggesting that folk wisdom has some empirical basis even as it overstates the degree of change.'

Tories are finished with or without Johnson. Time for change, time for investment and a much fairer society. Bring back police numbers, money for schools and a fairer distribution of wealth across the country.

Let’s hope Starmer can grasp that nettle. My biggest criticism of Blair was he actually could have gone much much further that first term. People were ready for it then, are again now.

Labour will take back Wakefield I don’t think there’s much doubt about that. It’s a question whether the Libs can take Honiton which is as safe a Tory seat as you can imagine.

Lib Dems come up with "close" polls to use to whip up last minute support and it works quite well for them to be fair.

Yes, when it comes to fighting single by elections the Lib-Dems are very, very effective.

Sometimes in the past they have used some fairly unsavoury tactics, but they don't need to with these clowns in charge.

Last local elections, I steeled myself and voted tactically for the LIb Dems, to no avail here in North Yorks. I still can’t forgive Nick ‘Menacious Swine’ Clegg for his actions. Am I alone in this?

Let's hope he's lost his magic touch

I don't think anything will work with Johnson. Minds have been made up to such a degree with all but the diehards about Johnson and this current incarnation of the Conservative Party, that the best the Conservatives can hope for is to reduce the extent of the defeat/force an awkward coalition.
