Top 5 shows you’ve watched.

This is always going to change depending on what I have just watched tbh.

If you are looking for something to watch, try The Offer by Paramount.

Not sure what platform it is on in the UK.

Just don't expect a docco, it is one mans view of the making of the Godfather
I watched that recently and really enjoyed it. My five would probably just be:

Twin Peaks
Twin Peaks
Twin Peaks
Twin Peaks
Twin Peaks

The 6 o'clock news. The way that the characters develop is amazing. There is this one guy - I cant remember the actors name, but he plays this overweight posh blonde guy who somehow becomes an MP, then mayor of London, and then even Prime Minister, even though he has no talent whatsoever and spends his whole time lying, being incompetent, deceitful and shagging around. It's a bit far fetched and can be depressing at times, but the way that people can't see through him is really funny. And he has this deputy leader who does all these press interviews where all he ever does is defend the main character's bumbling incompetence's - he's a great actor because even though that is literally all he does, he manages to keep a straight face throughout each scene he is in. I am watching it on catchup at the moment - so NO SPOILERS PLEASE.

Also - Detectorists & Peep Show.

It's difficult to say because so many great shows go 1 or two series beyond when they should. I'd say the ones I'm naming below were amazing but ended up a bit of a joke and 'tainted'.

Game of thrones (up to series 4)
Prison break (Season 1)
Breaking Bad
True Detective (season 1)
Dexter (up to series 4)

You sometimes wish they'd just do a limited run whist on top. Yet you can clearly see why they don't.

I recently watched Yellow Jackets on sky Atlantic. So far only one season and really enjoyed it👌

Completely agree with this, they could have ended Dexter after season 4 and it would have gone down as one of the best shows in history.

Walking Dead was great up until about season 3 as well, that’s completely ruined itself.

Loads of US shows go on for way too long. I'd definitely agree with you about Dexter and The w@nking Shed. Although the recent Dexter series seemed to be trying to make up for just how awful the ending to the last season of the original run was and it wasn't that bad. The W@nking Shed just got incredibly repetitive. I gave up on it ages ago. It was just the same sh*t with a different bad guy to defeat. It got really boring.

Brain Dead, brilliantly bonkers American political comedy.
Tokyo Vampire Hotel, unfathomable Japanese horror/comedy.
Comrade Detective, possibly the cleverest American comedy in years.
The Looming Tower, a recommendation from here that blew my napper off.
The Kingdom, medieval Korean zombies with the best hats.
Loads of others, but not Walking Dead or Sons of Anarchy which never nipped my imagination.

Sopranos
Breaking Bad
Stranger Things
Mad Men
Game of Thrones (if the last 2 seasons hadn’t gone off a cliff it would have been the best TV show ever made)

15 to 1 (The William G Stewart years)
Peep Show
Auf Wiedersehn Pet
Blackadder
Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing

Seinfeld
Sopranos - all time favourite
Curb your enthusiasm
Gomorrah
Only fools and horses

Great thread just started succession as its been mentioned many times

Mine's a bit of a mix but went for things I keep going back to.

The Last Kingdom
The Boys
Brooklyn 99
24
Schitt's Creek

I can't do top fives. I don't like putting any kind of art in to lists. And I haven't read the whole thread but a few good shows that some people might have missed here:

Beforeigners
A Very Scandi Scandal
The Mafia Only Kills in Summer
The Invisibles (the Czech one)
Kabul Kitchen

All subtitled though, so some won't like them. I enjoyed them all though and some are still available on the Walter Presents bit on Channel 4's website.

It's the American way sadly. You don't stop making shows when they lose artistic merit. They stop making them when they become unprofitable. Which is a good season or two after they loose their quality
