Too weak, lack of aggression

Too many tonight lacked aggression, too weak in the tackle.

Edmondson had a shocker, Ayling showed his age.

Hopefully Whittakers a quick learner, as he was lost tonight, and his first touch was poor

Lets hope Ineacho hits the ground running.

Desperately need a week on training ground before Sheff Utd game.

Tactically we were all at sea tonight

West Brom signing Adam Armstrong probably gets them a play off spot, leaving 1 spot left.

Can't see it being us 😡

Never mind Gibbo, get them early bird letters sent out 🤡

We’ve just had over a week on the training ground.

He wants to get them running up Roseberry Topping and on the sand dunes at the South Gare!

Some of them need reading the riot act too, a few home truths wouldn’t go amiss. I don’t think Carrick has it in him to go through them though and I can't imagine him raising his voice.

Carrick flourished as a player ..
Because he had some horrible bast@rds around him ...
Keane , Stam , even the Neville brothers ....
We haven't one in the squad ..
Exactly this!! He coasted through games with high pass rate because all he did was get the ball from Keane and pass it to Giggs or Scholes. Job done. He doesn't have any way of pre-empting anything. He can't see what the fans see when things need changing...and that is very worrying going forward.

This really has been a concern of mine for months, even back in October/November when we were losing games, we always seemed to go down without so much as a whimper.

I feel like that you can't direct the frustration at the players either, because they're under instruction from the management. I don't like Ayling as a leader, I don't think we have any dynamism and after Hackney wallops in an absolute ****-missile to get to 2-2, I'm expecting some energy and passion to go on and win it, especially with Illing-Junior coming on. We just sat back and let them come back at us again and they got what they deserved with some quality play by Le Fee.

We can't assume the conversations between Carrick and the senior management but you wouldn't be surprised if it was based around the fight and determination around the squad.

I couldn't believe how passive we were, apart from Morris who was probably lucky to not get sent off second half. They did an absolute number on us tactically, especially in midfield.

Every team that has got something from us this season knows its just a case of getting in our faces, or being stubborn in the low block and we will then run out of steam, then ideas, then confidence.

Ayling is the closest we have to a ‘nasty’ player but he was ripped a new one last night and that was his focus, he should have taken one for the team and clattered Le Fee early doors ( O’Nien is nodding at this point ).

We are a very polite and intricate team .
Unfortunately it's not a polite and intricate league.
Hence Morsy , Luton , Mccburnie, Ashley Barnes etc all got promoted recently.
I'm not sure that the management top to bottom truly grasp this .
Yep, and it's why Sheff U and Burnley are in the hunt for the top two this season as well. Leeds fight as a team when needed too.

Wilder, for all his faults and hubris, did identify that we could get bullied off the pitch and heads drop while he was here. We're crying out for a Leadbitter on the pitch rather than staring at an ipad on the touchline.

Ayling as captain should be getting the lads up to speed on the dark arts.. we should be fighting for every things.

Bergzorg has it in him, RVDB is no shrinking violet, Morris can handle himself, Hackney was banned for spitting at Scunthorpe.. now he's and Instagramable FC Porto poster boy.

We need to be making the most of our resources.. we're not a team that does a huddle before a game.. we don't get on at the linesman or referee.. and we're seemingly punished for it.

Keep calm.. just keep calm..

far too fcuking calm scoring own goals and messing around in our own box.

push it forward ffs

what did we have three players being the ball last night at 2-2 down.. Travers has one hell of a kick.. get it up there!

being so dogmatic in our approach means absolutely nothing if we end up launching the ball out of play anyway.. or dribbling it out of play.. or passing it to our opponents in the box.

out team needs to step up and stop being such a bunch of fannies.

GET LEO BACK IN THE MIX

Why can't he translate his game attitude to the team. He got stuck in and roused the rest of the team. Is his role to sit quiet?

I thought we gave away more fouls than Sunderland - Morris was booked for persistent fouling partly because he was aggressive.

Sunderland were more mobile going forward and it cost us.
