Tony Mowbray

Back at Boro? Everywhere he goes the team starts off doing really well, then the new year comes and his team’s play like they don't know each other. Will never forget his 2 full seasons with us. 11/12: 9 points clear of 7th on 31st December, missed out of the playoffs by 5 points in the end i think. 12/13: 10 points clear of 7th on the 31st December, wins 2 games in 23 games and we only confirm our championship status for the next season on the penultimate game of the season against Charlton (and we were 2-0 down in that one). He’s done similar at Coventry and now with Blackburn
Wasn't a large amount of that time spent clearing up Strachan's mess ?

I thoroughly enjoyed his interview, he spoke with honesty and integrity. He barely had a budget here and he was hounded out by the fans after the Barnsley performance (which was horrible to witness). I think a lot of team's form has dropped in the second half of the season, us included, and if half the teams' form has dropped off then that means the other teams in and around you automatically look better and do better. The interviewer alluded to injuries and it made me think of how one or two injuries we've had has caused our season to stumble, perhaps there are similarities between ourselves and them. He also has very little money to work with there. I'd like to see him work with a club where there is money as he does have an eye for a good player.
We'd fallen off a cliff in reality and likely would have been relegated.

We immediately looked a stronger unit when Karanka took over. An example includes Karanka taking one game to note Steele wasn't up to the task, how many games did he have under Mowbray? He had a hard job here and did well in parts, but fans do tend to look back with rose tinted glasses on his spell here.

It is what it is.

Mogga deserved the boot from us that can't be denied, our run of form across the whole year was absolutely awful and then topped off by one of the worst performances I've witnessed away at barnsley.

The defence was an absolute shambles

Mowbrays made some good signings while being there, he did at Boro too. Always thought he would make a great director of football.

I randomly went to a Blackburn game last season, and there were a lot of critical voices then.

Shocking interview tonight by him , Just reeling of the same sound bites and never looked at the camera.

Never trust someone who doesn't look you in the eye .

He will be gone before the next international break imo ,can see this form continuing a while yet. The Blackburn fans have now had enough with the manager.

They've wanted him out for a good while now Legend. Poor quality of football etc, etc.

Exactly, it would look extremely odd if he just started staring into the camera randomly! Not sure what the OP was expecting.

There was a guy a good few years back who used to cover Rugby League for sky and he was the first person I ever saw look directly down the camera when being interviewed. He would be chatting to the anchorman then would randomly turn to nod or address the camera/viewer at home when speaking. It was a weird thing to watch. Can't remember the guys name though.

On another note, would love a decent Rugby League team up here, great sport to watch and limited clash with footy since it moved to the summer.

The thing that used to frustrate me more than anything about Mowbray as a manager was him over analysing the opposition. Especially when playing poor teams, he used to give them far too much credit and it held us back. Ah well, it is what it is!

Would say his interview was pretty spot on given what I saw of the game. Still has a passion judging by that last bit of the interview.

Brilliant, honest interview that, say what you like about Tony's time as manager here but I'll always adore the man. He grew up round the corner from me and you could not meet a more genuine, humble man. I'd love him to come back here as a DoF, I think he would be perfect to shape the future of this club.

His recruitment whilst here was excellent.
I wonder if he could be in the shake - up after the end of this season and is just preparing his way out..........?
